Alvin Tan granted asylum in the US

PUTRAJAYA – A man who sparked controversy 12 years ago, Alvin Tan, has claimed that his asylum application has been approved by the United States (US).

In a recent Facebook post, Alvin, whose real name is Tan Jye Yee said that the approval came after spending several months in immigration detention in the country.

He said that he entered the US by surrendering himself at the Mexico-US border after his international passport was revoked by the Malaysian government.

"Initially, I fled to Singapore, then to the United Kingdom (UK) and later to Mexico.

"From Mexico, I walked towards the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, informing them that I did not have a passport or visa," he said on Wednesday.

He was subsequently detained and handed over to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), where he was given the opportunity to plead his case for asylum.

During his 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden promised a stark departure from the immigration policies of the Trump administration.

He pledged a 100-day moratorium on deportations after taking office. He promised to protect sanctuary cities from federal law enforcement agencies. And he harshly criticized the Trump administration’s treatment of undocumented immigrants at the southern border, asserting that America had the capacity to “absorb people” while calling on asylum seekers to “surge” to the border

“We could afford to take in a heartbeat another two million,” Biden said at one event in August 2019. “The idea that a country of 330 million people cannot absorb people who are in desperate need and who are justifiably fleeing oppression is absolutely bizarre.”

These supporters of Alvin, seem to think that Trump is the one that gave him citizenship. But he was helped a lot by Biden. Trump on one hand, only implemented the below, he tak sempat to investigate the background of asylum seekers to know if they are of the right character to be granted the green card.

So its just a coincidence that he got it during Trump administration.

While the USCIS’s rule change has removed a potential obstacle towards securing Green Card status, Republican President Trump has otherwise sought to follow through on a hardline, anti-immigration agenda since returning to the White House last week.

What anti-immigration action has Trump taken?
Among a flurry of executive orders, Trump has declared illegal immigration at the US-Mexico border a national emergency, sending additional troops to the area “to support the activities of the Secretary of Homeland Security in obtaining complete operational control of the southern border of the United States.”

“America’s sovereignty is under attack,” the White House said in a statement on the day of Trump’s second inauguration as president. “Our southern border is overrun by cartels, criminal gangs, known terrorists, human traffickers, smugglers, unvetted military-age males from foreign adversaries, and illicit narcotics that harm Americans, including America.”

In a statement announcing raids in Chicago on Sunday, ICE said it was carrying out “enhanced targeted operations” to “enforce U.S. immigration law and preserve public safety and national security by keeping potentially dangerous criminal aliens out of our communities.”

Meanwhile, Trump has eliminated the CBP One app, a mobile application that granted around 1,500 daily immigration appointments to asylum seekers at the US border, allowing the migrants to enter the country legally while their request was processed. All existing appointments were cancelled.

Furthermore, Trump’s anti-immigration moves include an executive order that seeks to end birthright citizenship in the US. Defined by the American Immigration Council as “a legal principle under which citizenship is automatically granted to individuals upon birth”, birthright citizenship is seemingly protected by the US constitution.

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside,” reads the constitution’s 14th Amendment.

Lol what? You would equate being stupid to having big bola? I mean he has zero chance of winning had he stayed.
