Why he didn't tell or bring anyone else or authority figure to record the undercover mole whole process.

Like that anyone can pretend to be undercover mole and accept bribes guilt free.

Next time if someone caught me receiving bribe, I will just say I am undercover mole for news agency, hahaha.

Why journalist need to accept bribe as undercover mole is completely weird and unheard off.

Now if the story is true the state immigration chief should come out and defend him.

From the story he appears to be honest and have been backing him.

He dont come out means...???

Look i trust when he say got cartel, but this other part i'm on the fence

Baconateer Dude's gonna come out as either an idiot or just as corrupt, regardless of the truth. Really  doh.gif

Also did he ever considered the immigration director wasn't on his side also? Should've listened to his editors and covered all possible contingencies.
(atleast tell somebody you're doing undercover, else next time police also pandai2 say undercover when kena tangkap red-handed)

From the story it looks the state immigration chief is clean. If this story is true he should come out to defend ...if not..??

I 100% believe got cartel, but this part of the story i'm now on the fence

Worse, MACC caught him 'red-handed in the act'. Now his only lifeline is the immigration director, who did not specifically say about the bribe (unsure if he even have proofs of their conversation).

Reminder to all, it's the legal system, NOT the justice system.

Also one thing that really sticks out for me is this.

QUOTE
On Feb 26 , one of the Pakistani agents mentioned in my article contacted me to deny his involvement, and I offered to publish a rebuttal. He claimed that another person had approached him offering to "settle" the matter. I made it clear to him that I had never asked anyone to speak on my behalf.

.............

They offered me RM50,000 and were prepared to pay me RM20,000 on the spot . I firmly refused and made it clear that I am not for sale.

QUOTE
On Feb 28, I called him and arranged a meeting at the Concorde Hotel in Shah Alam. This was based on the understanding that I had with the state immigration director.

.........

I refused and pretended to be interested in "working together" with him and tried to coax him to give me something that I could hand over as evidence.

Instead, he handed me an envelope, which I believed contained money, as a bribe. Surprised, I took it either way as evidence  to be handed to the state immigration director.

Feb 26 they already say they have 20k on hand
Feb 28 he tried to coax into getting more evidence, yet when receiving the envelop, he's surprised it contains money (when they already said they have it)

what if someone who appears clean, isnt really clean?

he says he trusts that the person is clean.... is he trying to imply something?

But the journalist trusted him to share all the investigation details...

Anyway lets see how it goes. His side of the story already very flimsy.

MACC havent realised their side yet which should have whatsapp convo and other shit

There are many possibilities here.

How come the MACC never bother to mention that they were looking for the agent to verify the story at all? I can also say that Immigration Department’s intelligence director probably works with the agent and trapped the guy. icon_idea.gif

That's why I said repeatedly that he should not accept it blindly, before he accepted it, he should confirm it by saying something like:
"This envelope contains only evidence for the investigation?"

If the guy says the "envelope only contains evidence, nothing else."

Then the journalists can take the envelope and inspect the content, don't just simply surprisingly take it lol.

If no straight answer were given, completely refuse to take or touch the envelope.

The entire conversation needs to be recorded for evidence.

Also he accepts money as evidence also sounds suspicious as hell, what can the money prove anything without documents or softcopy?
