If the tv not delivered yet, high chance you can cancel it, just contact them regarding this matter

If you feel bravia 7 is your choice, go for it 🤔🔥😉🔥😎

Yes, it's not delivered yet, if i want to change to Bravia 7, i gotta top up another RM2k, i'll go to showroom again and have a look before deciding (actually i've been there few times but since both tvs are not side by side so it's slight hard to tell, picture quality is definitely better with Bravia 7 but i'm unable to gauge by how much and if the upgrade justify the cost. Thanks for your opinion.

Personally I feel bravia 7 is your best choice as for now...,
Don't think much & just go forward with it 😁

lol thanks for your suggestion but cannot simply go with it because according to the T&C, once tv is mounted, i cannot return it, i'll go to showroom few more times before deciding. lol

Bravia 7 does have a lot of dimming zones compares to X90L, really a lot.

According to what you mentioned, X90L is capable TV where 700+ nits for SDR brightness and 1000++ for HDR and it's plenty bright, Bravia 7 would be much higher, i wonder if i will find it too bright in long run, i also read that some users were lowering the brightness but at the same time losing details.

It's already 2025, imo I just can't justify paying that amount for an 88 zones TV. Just to give you an idea, my 2020 X90H already has 32 zones. So 88 zones for a 2023 model TV is not very much of an upgrade apart from the higher brightness. Plus you want to take into consideration of software updates lifespan of the older model tv.

FALD LED or MiniLED are not OLED. You will never get perfect black with either so minimal blooming is part of it. If you want a picture quality that does not desaturate at an angle, then only OLED is your choice. But since you listed these 2 VA panel TVs only, I would still go for Bravia 7 simply because the lighting transition seems better with more effective black suppression based on rtings. Also with LD on, the contrast ratio is twice as much as the X90L.

No TV is ever too bright, that's my opinion tongue.gif . It will tone map better be it SDR or HDR. For X90L, say you half the brightness to say 350 nits it is still very bright considering most SDR contents are around 100-150nits max. So, I don't think you will be losing much of details. For HDR, black crush (low luminance details) normally happens more often OLED.

Also need to consider which TV you are coming from and the dynamic of your viewing environment. If you previously own say a 1080p TV, either TV will be massive upgrade for your case. rclxms.gif

Good morning to you sir.

1st of all, i would like to thank you so much for your detailed information, i have read a lot regarding TV in forums but your information pointed out some information that i need which i didn't realise before, maybe i didn't read enough.

I agreed, both tvs are great for an upgrade and yes you were correct, i've been watching 720p & 1080p all my life, it's my 1st time getting my own tv since i'm getting an apartment.

I like your point that it's already 2025 and can't justify having just 88 zones for the tv since i'm paying this much and yes the software updates lifespan.

watching the tvs in the showroom and own home are 2 different experiences due to the environments and guess i won't regret getting the new model even the older one is still good.

I'll go to the showroom and rewatch again before deciding and hopefully they let me switch since i've paid for the X90L with promo price.

I'm grateful & much appreciated.

Thank you

Ask the salesperson to turn off retail/store mode. Play some actual 4K HDR movies on Bravia 7 with picture mode set to "professional", color temp set to "expert 2" and see if you still like it. Brightness should be max for HDR.

I don't want to sway your decision too much but honestly speaking with your budget RM5.8k +/- Rm3K top up, you could have gotten 65" Samsung S90D QD-OLED at Rm7-8k range during one of those X.X sales. But then hindsight is always 20/20. sweat.gif

Thanks for your feedback, i'm actually fine with Samsung, just that my wife doesn't wants Samsung & OLED, so that's why i go towards Sony, yes Sony tax is expensive but the tech is great (upscalling and stuffs, we'll be streaming much more than 4k, i think there are less 4k contents for streaming services even if we're going to pay for it), oh yes, everyone is the same, will only satisfy or regret after getting something. Anyway, i'll try to ask the sales person to do what as you suggested and see if i'm ok with it. Your knowledges are like data in encyclopedia.

x90L is a mid tier while Bravia 7 belongs to the upper tiers hence the price gap.

Whether if you should spend more on higher tiers really depends on how disposable your budget is.
But you should be awared that even if you spend that 3k, you are still not going to get the best picture quality in both LCD ( from Bravia 9 ) or the OLED / QD OLEDs.

Much appreciated for your feedback and you have a good point, even upgraded, i'm still not going to get the best picture quality, i was thinking at least with this upgrade, i could get a mini led, fald is great, just thought that it's the 1st time i bought a tv so might as well to get a mini led for future proof and for long run. Thanks

I would go for extended warranty, it's about RM1.5k, yes it's expensive but for the peace of mind, i guess it's worth it, total bill is big no kidding, it's my wife and i shared it together to it's not that pain.

I bought MX950 Mini LED from Panasonic, cost me about 6k and I also bought extended warranty 5 years at 1.3k for peace of mind too

Heard the processing from Panasonic and Sony is on par cinematic level thus I went for Panasonic but it is a Smart TV not google TV

MX950 not cheap also. For Bravia 7, it would be 8.4k + 1.5K, price is definitely on the high side, but since wife approved then we just go ahead, it's our 1st tv, smart tv still nice, i never had a tv before so i'm not sure how good is google tv, my friend has smart tv and it's good experiences for me.

My friends had OLED and they suggested me not to take OLED due to the risk of burn in, maybe they were not so lucky, i've seen OLED in store, picture quality is awesome, i know tech has come a long way and this issue has big improvement, we'll be watching news a lot so there will be a lot of static images so guess it's safer for us to take non OLED Tv. Thanks for your suggestion.
