Most of the time blooming will only appear on a very dark scenes and also if you focus on it, minimal blooming is acceptable since it's not OLED, even mini led might have slight blooming, guess you're right, i have samsung Q990D soundbar in my mind, Q990F is coming but not sure when.

I am using this setup X90L + Samsung Q990D. no complaint at all and blooming is minimal.

Thanks for you time sharing, this is exactly the set up in my mind after did my researches, good to know it's working flawlessly for you, i can take a little blooming since it's the part of the tech itself, any news of when Samsung Q990F will be releases?

My friends had OLED and they suggested me not to take OLED due to the risk of burn in, maybe they were not so lucky, i've seen OLED in store, picture quality is awesome, i know tech has come a long way and this issue has big improvement, we'll be watching news a lot so there will be a lot of static images so guess it's safer for us to take non OLED Tv. Thanks for your suggestion.

Welp too bad.

But Bravia 7 is good nonetheless.

Enjoy breh

Haha waiting for Q990F as well, guess I'll live with the TV built in speaker with mini sub.

Another alternative to tv speaker is getting a small speaker, an example would be tribit bluetooth speaker, looks small but all well rounded and it's affordable, can get this while waiting for 990F, i'm doing the same.

Honestly the price sucks... aka Sony tax. 480 zones for RM3.5k more is just meh. Bought a QN65B with 720 zones for 6.5k for my parents 2 years ago.

At first I was tempted by the brightness offered by miniled but after some time, I tend to prefer my X90J. More uniform brightness when viewing. Mini led offered better specular highlights and does better when lighting up the scenes with different colors like when watching lol esports on Youtube. Some may even find mini led is annoying bright especially when switching between dark and bright or when watching them in a dim lit room. Of course that is my preference with my aging eyes. Some may prefer them especially when they have a brightly lit living room.

Can't agree more, sony tax is........not sure what to say.

So how's the experiences with QN65B?

Your sharing regarding the brightness is much appreciated because normally when we compare tvs at store, we'll just do it for like few minutes but once we bought and use the tv at home, it'll be totally different story, like what you said, brightness might be too annoying in long run but of course it's vary from persons to persons.

I'm not sure which one i like more in long run, just hopefully i won't choose wrong.

Maybe uniform brightness is better for the eyes.

I have an X90K, and my friend has an X90L. Both perform equally well with minimal blooming. I've only noticed the blooming twice in the two years since I bought it. I'd rather save the money and invest in a good soundbar instead.

I bought the X90K for my parents also. I find it decent in terms of picture quality for their usage. tongue.gif

yes, i am using my A80J OLED sony tv to watch the movies in a completely dark environment. Some scene with switching between dark and bright can really cause too much glare for eyes to be comfortable. If OLED (known to be less bright than LED), can cause it, i am sure LED one will be even more jialat. tongue.gif

No offence too, probably u do not even know well about the spec of the speakers. tongue.gif tongue.gif

It is a stereo speaker. It has a 2.1 channel setup, featuring:
Two tweeters for the left and right channels
One woofer for the bass

Sound quality sure better than TV a lot especially for listening to song compared to soundbar, but lack multi channel firing for surround and atmos effect.

yes, correct. much better than TV indeed.

and all in one so the left right is not as option as other sound system and yes no dolby atmos etc..

but apartment, the sound of this speaker is really not bad already. tongue.gif it is certainly not as good as any dedicated sound system but really not bad given its size... tongue.gif

The other reason is also Becos the speaker is not too big but sound in terms of loudness and quality also can meet my needs.😁

Wah. If like that, better get mini led tv. OLED bound to have dead pixels on bottom/top and corners.

Hahah so far I haven't found any, but I didn't really go real close to look... So ignorance is bliss for now sweat.gif

I'm currently staying in apartment as well, but you should consider soundbar. The sound quality and staging from a soundbar is seriously damn impressive since 7 years ago. Even the Atmos up firing speakers for a soundbar is amazing. Don't need to get a dedicated sound system, the soundbar (with subwoofer) will give you a night and day difference compared to the Marshall speaker.

yes, agreed that likely the newer sound bar i can buy now will outperform my Marshall speaker.

However, I find the current Marshall speaker can meet my needs already. tongue.gif
becos for any speakers, I care more about the clarity of vocals which marshall speaker can provide this becos i dun really like strong bass which a lot of soundbars and sound systems focus more on.
It is certainly not excellent but really good enough for now. tongue.gif so no intention to 'upgrade' anytime soon.

importantly also the speakers is quite small and does not take up so much space and look nice and can blend with the layout.

I enjoyed watching movies with my current setup a lot recently. I watched a lot of 4k movies with them. tongue.gif
