hi guys i will be travelling to KK 3D2N with my partner in 2 weeks time

i wanna ask...
- how do you travel from hotel (in my case TangDynasty) to activity places such as Poring Hot Springs, Kinabalu Park.. etc. for a 1 day trip (morning to late afternoon)
Did thought of renting a car, but scared might get lost.

- I found this Kinabalu Park Day Trip, is it worth it ? OR do we travel by ourselves is better ?

the best, is to rent a car from the airport. Juz travel around with GPS. it leads u to everywhere..no prob
Rent and travel by urselves, it's the most cost effective

Which tang dynasty? jalan belia or plaza wawasan? i find the tang dynasty park(jalan belia) has ample parking space

trust me, best to rent a car, easy to move around, flexible , and cheaper than joining tour group
for eg: if u join tour group to klias river, it's around rm170 (i think), vs if u drive there n join the tour, it's only rm60 (something like tat). well off course, u would save more if u share the cost of rental/fuel with a bigger car load

I am a Sabahan. Sabah is not the place for shopping and I don't understand why they open shopping mall one after another. Sabahan go to KL for shopping because KL is cheaper.

Even the food also doesn't make any sense. We have abundant sea product and yet when you want to eat seafood the price damn expensive. I guess Sabahan must start change their mindset when come to business. They must prepare for the open market concept otherwise Sabah will never be able to catch up with modern and fast pace world. Forever become katak bawah tempurung.

compare seafood prices+size of them+freshness+good taste with JB seafood, i prefer sabah..

I have been to kota Kinabalu last week. A trip for 2N2D. Compare to Kuching, visiting SABAH is the BEST. The reason I get highland and island in just 2 days. Do read my blogpost, and you can see the place i accomodate in SABAH for 2 night.

You can visit my blog for full story of SABAH http://matkedah.com/

If Rm190 for 2 person, is worth it to take, but for 1 guest is not. because you can rent a kancil and Rm70 + RM30 for petrol. Drive to NABALU, KINABALU PARK, and PORING by yourself and you can spent more time as long as you like it.

understand that the tune hotel is a bit far from city center. are there any budget and clean hotels in the city center, with similar price with tune hotel? as there are 4 of us, so need 2 rooms for 3d2n. or perhaps apartment rental?

thanks for the quick reply. just checked tune hotel, only rm160 for 2 rooms, 2 night including air-cond. so i guess rm40/room/night is kinda hard to find?

thanks for the link. it's really helpful.

but as we are also considering renting a car. if that's the case, i guess it should be ok to stay at tune hotel? how about the parking availability there?

From KK city center to Tune hotel=20 minutes driving, parking in 1Borneo is gonna cost you a bomb, for free parking you need to remove your car from the parking lot by a certain time every morning.. sweat.gif

Any opinion on Switzs hotel? Plan to stay in Kundasang for maybe 2 nites...is it advisable to take the tour package? or we can travel on our own?
