as with many things, this can get very subjective.

since the launch is expected in Jan, we can expect to also see DXO test results then. can compare compare and see how it goes.

but so far, HONOR phone cameras (on their flagship models) have all scored high or ranked #1 at launch. even right now, HONOR Magic6 Pro is at joint #2 (together with Google Pixel 9 Pro XL) and only beaten by Huawei Pura.

If he is referring to force certain app to dark mode then I think a lot of phone can do that. Even my old xiaomi 12t pro also can do it. Practical wise I personally don't feel the need to force dark mode of certain app and I rarely use it. Maybe for some people it's important.

Yes bro, I'm referring to the Force dark mode in developers options. Btw your Xiaomi 12t pro is running MIUI or Hyper OS. Does Hyper OS has the same feature as your 12t pro ? my mi11 ultra has the same settings like yours but since mine is China ROM, apps from Google play store doesn't show up in the dark mode settings options. Previous MIUI 12.5 has Force dark mode in developers options but Xiaomi removed it later on

Mine 12t pro is running hyperos. Basically it is just a name, I don't feel any different from other android. As of other Xiaomi phone whether can do it or not then I really not sure.

I noticed even on my Oppo realme Xiaomi China ROM Fons, apps from Google Play Store don't show up in the dark mode options like the ones you screen shot up there. I Have to enable developer options then turn on Force Dark Mode only then apps like Shopee can be in dark mode. That's why when I buy China ROM Fon I need to make sure inside developer options has the force dark mode option. It's the only way, no other way.

Ya just do whatever you feel happy with. Maybe can consider to try testing the phone first in display unit whenever possible. I believe popular brand like honor sure will got a lot of display unit all over the mall when they launched the phone.

If don't mind waiting and potentially older model can wait till 1111 or 1212 next year to grab it. I have seem the older magic 6 pro drop to bottom low around 2.6k to 2.8k during the last sales. It was really a good deal for the price & spec.

Just that I am not sure how good is their update policy and software performance. As an owner Xiaomi 12t pro, I feel that their updating frequency and speed was unsatisfactory. Mine now still stuck at September 2024 security patch when now already December. The hyperos itself also occasionally got some random weird bug.

I did test the Magic v2 in honor shop. Was about to trade in my Fold 5 for it, when I realized Shopee in Magic v2 cannot be in dark mode, so uturn walk out the shop. But I still stalk Shopee sellers selling at lower prices compared to outside shops cos the Magic v2 looks very nice Fon. My Oppo realme Fons after keep updating to latest updates, battery seems to drain very fast. Not sure it's done on purpose or nowadays apps consume higher amount of battery life.

Yes, that's what exactly I tried firstly when I hold the Magic v2, to my surprise Honor Magic OS developer options don't have the force dark mode. That's why I keep asking if the latest Magic OS 9 is still the same or not lol.

Online price always will be better than store price. For eg I have seem magic 6 pro dropped till 2.6k while s24 ultra drop till 3.6k. Just that have to wait until at least a quarter before new model launch.

The battery draining fast wise really no ideas is it due to update, battery deteriorating over usage due to very high wattage to charge or heavier os, app etc etc as time progress but generally I think phone can last for 2 to 4 years max.

As of magic v2 really look nice at the price but I don't think they can beat fold yet. Fold still a market leader for foldable. Their main advantage I think will be the low price for the high spec. Software experience I doubt any flagship can beat sammy currently except pixel.

The most expensive shop goes to UR. Even in Shopee their prices are always around the RRP price while other 3rd party sellers are selling at much less. But I like to go UR to test out the new Fons, cos they have plenty of shops in my state. The last time I bought a Fon in a shop is my Oppo Find X2 Pro way back in 2020. After that all my Fons are from Shopee cos the specs of China ROM Fon is supernatural good.

seems can find demo units at store already.. just no confirmed specs. though you can probably check from the phone settings.

i also tested tested 2 Honor Magic 7 Pro unit at Sunway Pyramid yesterday
Both camera seems cannot focus correctly when zoom x3
even in Portrait mode, it is also not focus correctly on face
not sure is it demo unit software issue

this only can achieve if there are a lot of lazada coins.. else maybe 3k+..

Oppo Find X8 Pro got 6x periscope zoom & AI magic to make the picture clearer. But unfortunately most YouTube channels don't max out the zoom to let us know the real quality of the pictures. Most channels zoom to 30x only

Last year they also do the same trick. When you pay 200 to get the early bird voucher of 400, you will get extra wireless charger. If I remember correctly, those ordering without early bird voucher will end at the same price but won't be getting the wireless charger.

As of past history with magic 5 & 6 pro, it's not laku. The price will drop to bottom low at Q4 of the year to clear the stock. Can consider to wait if not rush to get a new phone.

If really need the phone urgently then can consider to get it through early bird as you will be getting extra wireless charger. The price is not bad considering it's's one of the cheapest phone with tof scanner.

iinm, another use of the TOF is the improved performance at night. i can actually unlock the phone fairly well in dark areas. those phones with just front cam (no extra TOF)... same place, harder to unlock and i usually end up unlocking with fingerprint instead for those phones.

3d tof sensor is like face ID on iphone. Unlock with 3D images instead of 2D. In theory, is safer and can't be unlocked with just picture of the owner. can be used for banking apps biometric unlock (android apps are not optimised). Usual 2D sensor also requires light to unlock in dark area, that's why the usual phone often crank up screen brightness to max for unlocking. 3D sensor using infrared to scan your face instead.

for me.. i didn't really feel that much difference with the X9C. i can go ask around and see if anyone else figured out what it is really used for.

official sets sold by HONOR Malaysia will be the global version. meaning it will have differences compared to CN version. global versions come with google play and certified for use locally --- MCMC cert and the compatibility of the local networks.

I think this year model there is significant differences already. Silicon battery alone is a big tech up compared to previous flagship. And the new elite chip more AI focused Vs 2 years ago. But again it's up to user usage, but that battery upgrade I feel worth it.
