also nowadays not much diff between performance and usability of a 2 yrs old flagship versus the latest. minuscule evolutionary improvement so can wait easily 2-3 generation to upgrade

i am looking at honor magic 7 pro to replace my s23 ultra... wanted a huawei with harmonyos which is not available outside China.

to me honor is actually global huawei with half step down in terms of premium'ness.

also convenience to pair and collaborate with my honor magicpad2

?? Just buy it online then. It's available for pre order now. Huawei cannot pakai already, at least in short term. Poor soc at premium price, I think only those with true love to china will buy it to support the brand. As a Malaysian, I personally don't see any reason to get a Huawei device without gms.

Yup, waiting for telco bundle on the magic7pro.

Huawei is alright for ME as far as GSM etc is concern. I am not tied in with google stuff and all their phone have microg running so majority of google stuff works - but still this is not for everyone. Huawei global phones are on EMUI which is neither here or there, Huawei should just move to HarmonyOS China version with microg and then everyone get the same OS updates like in China. Huawei Global OS updates ... really not consistent

i am enjoying my magic7pro. dont wait too long lo, else you will wait again for magic8pro. flagship phone should buy in first 3 mths of launch else might as well wait for next gen.

same with samsung. the galaxy s25ultra also very hard to sell now. maybe due to the mad prices of flagship phone now - almost rm5k for high spec china brand while samsung/apple can only get entry flagship spec.

i am currently using Magic OS 9.0.0.182. when receiving incoming calls yesterday, the phone were showing some strange names, which are not in my contact list. does anyone encounter this problem? would like to know how to resolve this, as it is very misleading, some of the calls are from bank call center, and it shows up as some strange name

i'm on the same version - i don't have this issue. it could be scammers, block the numbers. go to phone "settings" -> "security and privacy" and check the security status.

nope, these are valid caller from banks and other companies. only the displayed names were incorrect... i used huawei phone in the past 5 years and not having such issue, just switch to honor for less than 2 months and encounter this. really clueless with this
*
Oh - so far didnt notice this. I also moved used to be Huawei user. wanted another Huawei phone with HormonyOS but unfortunately its only available in Malaysia with EMUI. So next best thing is Honor rolleyes.gif
I find Huawei have better software which hardly have any bugs, Honor on the other hand seems less polished.

If you want Huawei with harmony os, you need to buy from the Shopee sellers selling China ROM set bro
*
I did though of that but figure risk is high buying via 3rd party and sometimes might not worth the trouble. Other option is probably buy in China while touring but need to do homework on Telco compatibility etc. So in the end I just go with Honor biggrin.gif

I am happy with the magic7p but the camera telephoto quality is not that great. MagicOS need to restart the phone after using for two to three weeks else I might experience some misbehavior - like notification count on icon not showing for whatsapp etc.

Wa nice photos - maybe need to tweak my settings. I am ok with the telephoto upto 6X, beyond that I see watercolour effect. Probably the digital zooming processing.

Anyone of you using nova launcher with your magic7pro? Wonder if its same experience, when I use mine, its sometimes not very smooth/stable especially after running it a week so I ended up with the standard launcher.
