Since that my R4DS doesn't support any current technology anymore, I was wondering what are the "hit" Flasd Card in Penang and their price at the moment?

Yeah, I totally agree with komputer. If you are from Penang, get from Penang.

Here are the price comparison that I know.

PSP - about RM20 - 50 difference
DS - about RM30 - 60 difference
PS3 - about RM50 - 100 difference (sometimes got good deal)
Wii - about RM50 - RM150 difference (depends on stocks)
xBox360 - not sure as hardly research that.

Hi all,

Recently when I read a newspaper, I found these tiny advertisement/classifieds that shows Malaysia are selling "Wi/Vi" with "Wi/Vi Sports" included for RM199. I saw such stuffs previously in a China's website and I cannot believe it had comes into our market officially.

Now, for me, I am really, really annoyed with these immitation goods. How come Nintendo don't want to have some actions on such immitations? Clearly there will be people that get cheated or at least get attracted by the prices.

What do you guys think? Are you guys support the originals all the way or you will cough some a bit of your money to try the fake Wi/Vi?

I bought my PSP there too. Well, judging from the amount of people buying stuff from ACE, I think I am pretty confident about their "integrity". Anyway, I still made a lot of checking, like the serial number and the console overall look etc.

No matter how good the refurbishment is, they bound to have some issues, like the color falling off, there are tiny scartches (which shouldn't have in brand new system) and the grease. Grease is one of the most obvious proof of refurbished system as it is nearly impossible to be wipe off completely.

Sadly the gaming industry in Penang is about 5 - 8 years "younger" than KL, in terms of sales and availability. Also, the supply here are not much. Hence; most of the sellers here won't budge on the price, especially those current generation console and handheld.

One thing I felt relieve is that that price here is not too high compare to KL. Hence; most of us don't have any complaint yet, at least for now.

Which shops did you go to in Penang that the shopkeeps don't want to answer your questions?

The last 2 shops I bought my stuff from, Games Tower and ACE from Prangin Mall, they are all quite ok on answering my questions, and those were busy days.

I have to admit that 2 of the shopkeep in Games Tower have not much idea on the current consoles though. For the old consoles such as the GameBoy Advance and PS2, they are masters on it.

1) For PS2, I have no idea anybody still interested or not, but Gametech BJ Complex (near Kamdar one) is offering at RM499.

2) For PSP and Nintendo DS, the latest source I get is around RM700, but that doesn't include the good headset or the TV Cable.

3) For PS3, the price now goes back to RM1450 for 40GB. However, 40GB actually are not in production anymore. So, I am now looking for the price of the 60GB version.

Anybody here knows how much will it cost for the new version of PSP (PSP-3000)?

Hi Cyclone1,

First of all, where you bought the PSP? If there is still warranty (or even no warranty), you better go back there to repair it.

Second, what's wrong with your PSP? There are a few stuffs that the seller / repairer will tell you it's not worth it to repair - like the screen dead, serious bad/dead pixel, or major hardware failure.

If you really want us to suggest, then I would say you can go to ACE in Prangin Mall or Game Tech in BJ Complex. Bear in mind though, I saw complaints somewhere that ACE is "reluctant" on the warranty repair. I don't think they have problem with paid repair though.

I am not good at these. But for me, I think it's an external problem. You can go ACE and ask. They will help you. Chances are you will only need a new charger and tell them to check you battery whether its original or not.

RM100 difference is more than acceptable in Penang.

However, we do know that there are not many game-shops in Penang and worst still, there are game shop with bad reputation / cheat reputation.

Again, you can go check out the 2 ACE shop in Prangin and Komtar. They might have better offers. Also, always ask for better warranty.

The 2 shops I went to in Queensbay mall, well maybe I wear poorly, they just don't care my presence there and sound lazy when answering my question.

A lot of ppl seems to have bad experience in ACE.

Well, good luck in you Wii. Gametech offer is not bad at all, especially they offer 2 sets of remote in the package.

Tell us more when you get the Wii.

Sadly we don't have much choices in Penang. You can go ahead to check around Prangin and BJ Complex. I think these 2 complexes had the most choices for you.

There's a small and tiny dedicated Sony shop in Queensbay. I am not sure is it Sony Center though.

One thing is that the shopkeep there are all part time, with limited knowledge.

I just bought my Wii in ACE Prangin...I know, I know, their repair service might be sucks. However, their package is the best around Penang so it is OK.

Here are the packages for my Wii.
1) Wii Korea Set converted to 3.2U.
2) D2C ModChip.
3) 15 Selected Game.
4) 10 Pre-determined Game. (*&^%#* games)
5) 1 Year Service Warranty - spare parts will be calculated differently.
6) Extra Set of Wii Remote + Nunchuk.

In total: RM1230.

The other shops I asked for Wii:
1) Gametech in BJ: RM850 for Software Modded, RM1090 for Chip Modded - 10 games
2) Game Monster in Queensbay: RM1149 for both software and mod chip set - 23 games all selected by yourself
3) Game World in Queensbay: RM1099 for mod chip set - 20 games
4) Mario Net in One Stop: RM1090 + 10 games - no idea how it is modded

Well, yeah actually....I got another pair of Wiimote and the price is just about RM100 more than the one from GameMonster.

Also, I want modchip, not software modded console.

Finally, there are shops that the price is a bit cheaper, but they have no idea what they are selling.

Try Gametech....Ppl say the price is good....however, I am not sure about the warranty and stuff...it's in BJ Complex

My friend bought his Xbox (Falcon) from Mario in One Stop. He knows the guy so got a bit discount. I will update the price later.

On the Xbox360 repair thing, the same guy go to ACE and ask to repair a 3rod, the price is RM180 and I am a bit confused on why they say that after repair, its recommended to play not more than 2 hours per day.

You mean in Penang?

Well, the best bet for PS3, for me is the package in Sony Center - RM1780 (if not mistaken) for the 80GB console + 1 game OR 1 controller.

The game they offered usually is Little Big Planet.

I am not sure about the game shop, but they are mostly selling Singapore version.

I did saw that Switch Gurney Plaza (yes, the Apple shop) selling PS3 too with similar package to Sony Center. However, they have this RM19xx option which you need to ask them for more info.

For PSP, sad to say that if you want the homebrew version, it's going to cost you more. If you need PSP-3000, around RM850 you can get one, with packages.
