I don't think the rent makes too much of a difference. But yeah, QB's game shop's price is not as good as those in BJ complex / Prangin. Hope this can be change.

Previously we got one shop do a tiny intro here, but they are extremely reluctant to put the price list here, stating that the price always change.

Just came back from BJ Complex.

Got a new game shop called Game Galaxy there. There have two shops.

The first one is a relatively large booth near the old HK Video shop, and same floor with Gametech.

Another one is same floor with Gamemaster. Just walk a bit further down from Gamemaster and you will see the shop.

They have substantial amount of PS2 and accessories.

Please help us to check for price if you went to Game Galaxy .

I am going to be a pessimist here and say "not really"

Anyway, went to QB on weekends, both the console shops on the SenQ side has accessories and a moderate collection of original games.

However, one of the shop (apologies for not remembering the name), the shopkeep doesn't seems to have good knowledge. The shop got a PS2 kiosk (or a preview booth).

Just right beside the washroom + the coffee shop.

If that is the one, it is probably the most reputable (by no mean 100% perfect) shop in Penang.

Like I said previously, everything I post here is based on my experience .

For the past 2 times that I deal with them, the boss, the lady and the shop keep had been good to me, even though I asked a lot of questions and insist on a few things. I don't feel any "you wan it, you pay the money" attitude from them.

Also, a few of my friends went there to buy stuff from them and so far I did not heard any complaints, yet. And, for all the consoles we bought, I don't think there are any recon set among them.

I understand and heard countless times that their service are no good, especially after sales service, and frankly I have doubts on that too. However, there are occasions where the boss / experience worker teaching / guiding my friends on how to set up the console correctly, especially for PS3 and Xbox360. So far my consoles are all still good, but when my NDS battery starting to lose it, I will use that as a "guinea pig" to see their real "face".

Yesterday went to Time Square and Prangin Mall.

In Time Square, there is a gaming shop named "Game Pad' I saw the PS3 SG version on sale. Also, the Resident Evil 5 Xbox360 is on sale there too. I did not really talk to the shop-keep though. If somebody knows more info, please share here .

As in the Prangin, I went to ACE and bought a new 3rd Party PSP Charger for RM25. If you need the original one, it cost RM60 with adapter included. I will buy the original one once my 3rd Party PSP Charger broken.

The PS3 Slim Asia / SG Set will be in store in a few days time according to the boss lady. It will cost RM12xx. Of course, if you buy games with the PS3 together, it will be "a bit" cheaper.

The situation there is not hectic as I would be expected. However, almost all the customers there are there for PSP issues, including me . They are also showing the Batman - Arkham Asylum on their LCD using an Xbox.

As for older gaming consoles, I saw them selling a fat PS2 at RM380, a slim PS2 black at RM380 too. There are two used arcade style joypad selling for less than RM200 each. If you want broken old consoles, you can ask the boss there too.

Moving on, there's also another gaming shop in the same floor as ACE. It's on the other side and a few shops after "Shua Shua Le" Steambot. I can't remember the name correctly but it got "Electrical" on it. The shop got lots of accessories and the shopkeep is very friendly. You won't miss it, as they hang a lot of PS2 slim boxes on the left. Please help us to get more info.

And finally, do you think that we can persuade Penang Shops to set up a thread in Low Yat?

No problem

I got a Wii, a PS2, a NDSL, a PSP Slim 2000 now.

Of course, I am planning to buy a PS3 very soon, probably when PS3 Slim officially comes into Malaysia.

As for the Xbox360, I am still uncertain as the RROD really, really worries me.

I am also a collector for older gaming console, right now got a Dreamcast, a Gamecube and a PSOne Slim. Right now I am looking for the old NES and also the previous gen Xbox You can see my collection in my Gaming Setup.

Just to inform you that most of the shops in Penang will starting selling PS3 Slim.

The price is around RM1265 - RM1355. There are shops that offers bundled games / cheaper games option too.

Don worry all, Sony announced the freeze is due to some hardware issue. There is no problem on 3.0.

True...even got one shop selling at RM1350 + 2 games....wow.....

However, I am still gonna wait to see how much Sony Malaysia officially sells.

Last time, for the old phat PS3, compare to US price, they sell around RM200 more expensive.

This time round, USD299 x 3.5 = RM1046.5. Hence, if they add another RM200 in, it's still only just RM1246.5. I know this looks silly, bit finger crossed, we might got a not much more expensive PS3 Slim on sale officially in Malaysia, with warranties
