Went to Penang last weekend to scout for NDSL and for other stuffs. What I can say is the console's price is quite expensive especially in Pacific Megamall. All the game shop there quote me 1000+ for NDSL+R4+1Gb without screen protector, case n pouch; ridiculously expensive.
Went further to Prangin mall and stumble upon on ACE. The staff is not friendly at all and you can't even bargain one single cent with that shop. They just give u straight face and take it or leave it kind of attitude. Glad that I'm not buying anything from them.
At the end of the day I decided to buy NDSL at KL and most probably from keane SCE. Penang console is overprice and lack of choices.

~~Just my 2cent.

Nobody in Penang goes to Pacific Megamall (That's in Prai by the way) to buy consoles. It is because they "think" they are the rare shops around and can open any price they want. If you really want to buy consoles in Penang, go to the island, specifically Bukit Jambul Complex, Prangin Mall or to a lesser extent, Komtar.

As a penangite, I have to admit that the consoles here are more expensive to KL. However, the price will not be too ridiculous. Take an example, if a PSP package is selling at KL for about RM820, then in Penang it would be around RM860 - 900. Services wise, well you have to see the mood and how lucky you are (I hate that). If that day the shop-keep just argue with gf, then good luck. If the shop-keep is happy, then he/she will be more professional. You can identify the boss and talk to him/her directly.

Also, another I felt embarassed of is that if you are not speaking Penang's Hokkien, the seller might (just might) be quoting a higher price because they again think that you are not the regular client.

To Chikanot,
I get my Nintendo DS Lite from Games Tower (a small console shop in prangin) for RM800 for NDSL, R4, 1gb micro SD, Screen protector and 3 months warranty, and that was about 3 - 4 months ago. I think you should take a more in dpeth look around Prangin Mall

In my humble opinion, ACE did have a lot of stocks but seriously, apart from the boss, I don't really like other's shop-keep attitude. However, one thing for sure is, the shop is skillful for repairing and most importantly, the stuffs they sold got quality (at least from what my friend says).

I have to re-iterate this. Let's face it, the market for consoles in Penang is not as big as KL. Hence, bargaining will be more difficult. That doesn't mean you can't bargain though.

Thank you.

My collegue just told me, her brother quote from a quite new shop in chai leng park, PSP 4GB RM 860.

Megamall consoles cannot buy one... last time i asked about the price, i also got shocked... the price will be at least RM 150 more expensive

To me Penang = Pulau Pinang not only the island itself. I'm from Perak BTW. Actually I went to Games Tower as well but I would like to buy from a shop with good recommendation thru this forum. That is why I decided to asked ACE, but unfortunately their attitude toward customer was not to my liking n decides to buy from KL.

To be truce to you, I don't mind to pay a bit expensive for my console, as long he/she/the shop entertain me and giving me a good service. Just bought my NDSL Zelda Limited Edition from SCE KL anyway. The price is not the lowest around but Keane/SCE boss (I think) being patient with me while in the buying process; I Just like to be treated as a customer and not being treated as a no money kind of guy but just asking price for fun by the shopkeeper (the kind of treatment I endured by most console seller in Penang).

Thanks~~~Just my 2cent

i just wonder, are all the xbox360 penangshop selling now is the new falcon model?

i bought my 360 in sept 2007 at prangin mall for rm1580, 1 wireless controller,20g, 10 'ahem' games.
the shop gave me one week warranty only but don't really matters since its a modded one.
modded means void warranty already and i dont think any shops here in penang can fix a broken 360.

Aiseh~. 'Warranty' means that if your Xbox is broken, they will fix it not MS. I think you got played, I asked Mario last year and the owner (Tan) said that he'll give his 360 a 1 month warranty. Bout a few weeks ago I asked Ace and the girl said they give their 360 3 months warranty.

I want to confirm if Ace has falcons too (looks like it with the holiday bundle and whatnot) ... when I get enough money that is ... but I can tell you, last time I went to Mario (Tan's), he hasn't updated his stock yet so his 360s are less likely to be falcon models

Mario is the game shop at komtar right? last time also he offer 1 month warranty but when i saw the box package,
its a core package, the first model where the chance of hit by 3rod is very high.

i know the "warranty" is the shop warranty not ms that's why just 1 month or 3 month warranty only.
if the shop warranty is one to one exchange on the spot is okay la but they said, if broken
they'll try to fix it on their own. so the warranty don't really have much value.

recently i went to megamall prai, when i asked for 360's games, none of the shops there selling
360 games anymore, they only sell ps2,wii games only.
