hopefully so...but with so many new techonologies (SSD,LED backlight) might be packed into macbook and a slimmer profile,i dont think the price will drop,as long as it remains the same,i am a happy man.

btw, the price surely not same but rather expensive. tongue.gif I will expect the price similar to MBP or slightly less. But the spec is lower than MB. probably using Pentium M, most ultra-portable laptop using Pentium M with 1.2-1.6Ghz. whistling.gif

if i am not mistaken, the current mabcook is 13.3inches in screen size, the rumoured one reportedly being the same in size.unless Apple decided to start off an ultra portable line, then its a different story already.

and i think Apple wont be playing dumb to the Asus Eee pc which is small and useful yet still keeping the price low, many would say what could a 4gb or 8gb do,but 4gb or 8gb is more than enough for ultra portable users.so,my bet is a slimmer Macbook with 13.3 or maybe 14.1inches screen size while staying away from the price point of MBPs icon_rolleyes.gif and Apple will have a winner again thumbup.gif

my guess would be priced around 5k as a typical macbook..`
which is going to be a hard sell as asus eee pc though being only 7" it's priced much more competitively..`

unless someone willing to pour in rm4k just for the favour of getting a 13" .. than the 7" for ultra portable purposes where 13" is defying the point of being a truly "Ultra" portable..

Nope.

If apple "happen" to introduce new category under macbook family, it should be under ultra portable. And ultra portable would be the size of 12.1" or smaller. 13.3" does not really count as "ultra", probably just portable. Btw, i doubt it will be 14.1". I rather get MBP instead whistling.gif

I dont mind 'ultraportable' at 13.3". But the tablet must weight no more than 1.5kg and the lcd must almost fully occupy all the screen part, leaving only a little bezel. For now, 2.27kg for MB is not bad, but considering i want to bring the notebook with me to uni, its get heavier by the time finish class. Lol

Dear all macbook user
I would like to ask some opinion from all of you

I'm going to buy a macbook soon , (maybe these few days time)
propose is for making some video and picture editing with the imovie
and iweb if i am not mistaken for the name there .

can the macbook handle my work ? I'm in budget, so cant afford a MBP

and I would like to make a portable as well ,
I like to doing my iweb while in the cafe shop which have a wifi on them
or video editing while on my vacation

I'm getting a santa rosa macbook 2.2ghz (maybe)
so like to ask if some macbook user tell me some of the opinion

A Macbook would perfectly handle that load of work. I would recommend you to at least upgrade your RAM to 2GB though.

A Macbook is more portable than a MBP. Just get a sleeve for protection and you're good to go.

Yes it would run smoothly. But you will feel the toil on your MB if you multitask heavily.

One guy told me that getting 2x1GB RAM sticks are only RM100 each, thus making the upgrade RM200 only.

I heard the RAM is not tat cheep ..
I ask the apple reseller shop , they told me the normal ram will not fit in apple computer , because the normal ram is KVR and apple ram is KTA

and they told me 1GB ram is RM350

2X1GB will be RM700

if there is RM200 , i will sure upgrade it without hesitate

Don't buy it from Apple of course. Those guys are bullshitting you. A lot of people here bought theirs from non Apple resellers and are working fine on their machines.

Go to those normal hardware shops, and get MB specific ones. Those are cheap, only RM100 per 1GB stick.

Let me search for you what type you should buy.

Added on November 15, 2007, 12:15 pmOk, here is the RAM specifics from Apple's site and a guide on how to install it your ownself as well:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303721

Further read, it might be for the old MB black but still a good read:
