pls share experience, most important is safety

ayam feel wan go there since filipina quite hot
plus maybe might be asked to attend a meeting/confenrece there

Metro Manila banyak shopping mall...they love their malls over there...

Manila is kinda boring, and the traffic jam is quite terrible. In my opinion, Bangkok offers a much better experience. For safety, it's advisable to use GrabCar for point-to-point all the way.

If pinay is your reason to go, you can consider travel to Boracay too.

City center should be safer such as BGC and Makati

My experience is not for beginner. Go Philippine but not Manila. Unless you are season "backpacker" and use to the hectic city, traffic jam.........other places outside of Manila offer better experience.

dont expect to see pretty girls there. I was there before. Very hard to see even 1 pretty girl.

i've honestly never heard of any malaysian friends/relatives deciding to go to Philippines for a holiday.

Plan your return journey 6 hrs in advance. You need to be in airport 3 hrs early at least cos inside airport is also long queue

Eat babi, drink alcohol, and high end casinos, and malls

Good food, good service, good price, good shopping

I remembered it took 2 hour to get to one place. Then I went to top of the building and can see the hotel I was staying and it was about 20km away probably

During traffic jam I could remember the same man walking passed my taxi several times

city centre still have dangerous places, one of it is straight besides the airport.

Just be extra vigilant. Everyone....vendors, grab driver, taxi driver.....will trying to get extra money out of your pocket. And careful of overly friendly strangers.

Agreed. Cebu city and Mactan are much more pleasant.

If you are adventurous take a 7 hours ride to Baguio. Bus leaves almost every hour. Baguio is their summer city aka Genting minus the casino. Ayam go there every year.

i am in manila up to 4 months in a year..

safe place.. dont go outdoor. okada is one fine place.
you want to go outdoor, stick to makati/bgc/ortigas. there people jogging outside at 4 am even.

For easier travel around Manila, you can use motorcycle taxi apps like Move It (Grab's motorcycle service) or Joyride. It’s generally safe to use motorcycle taxis in Manila as the cars are so slow, serious accidents are rare, most accidents are small bumps or scratches only. The fare is a lot cheaper than grabcar too, like 1/3 of grabcar fare.

But if you are using iOS, it might be slightly hassle to download the apps due to locked to phillippines Apple ID.

It's even more frustrating during rainy days, the travel time and fare will be times two, and still have to be lucky enough to get any taxi or Grabcar

Not a bad place but there are better choices elsewhere, personally I think Bangkok and HCM are more fun. Also most pinays are AMDK, they prefer koreans and caucasians than other Asians except the rich one.

Been there for months due to work. Generally its not very safe to walk at night.

- street kids, they will gang up on you. 1/2 will be begging to distract you, rest will try open up your bag/snatch stuff from your pants. They do it openly without fear, you don't be surprised if suddenly a bunch of them come to you. Just be prepared and give a loud shout, they will runaway.

- knifepoint robbery at night is very common, just try your best to take cab going to places and night time only walk at the main road that's well lit with a lot of people.

- always try to grab or metered taxi.

- don't carry all your cash with you.

Food are good there, people are friendly, alcohol are cheap. Just safety wise a bit turned off.

confirm not safe, you can see, a lot casino, a lot scammer, all drugs dealer

and most important, even local citizen is afraid to go out at night

most of the pinoy i know they always proud of their hometown one....

like example i pernah know a pinay, i ask her if she wanna be PR in SG, she ask me why wanna stay long in SG, see all around the trees, roads so perfect seems like a simulated man made world

but actually i didnt realize, its not easy to be PR... so probably it was never in her plans.

Maybe their hometown is not in Manila, many of OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) are from province because it is better choice to leave their hometown to overseas where they can earn more than Manila. Maybe to them Singapore is not too much different than other Asean countries, they prefer Ang Moh countries like US, Canada more.
