I thought Manila is like Jakarta. I think Manila is on par with KL. Even take a stroll at night in Manila Makati is far better than KL bukit bintang. This experience is like I took a stroll at night in Tokyo/Kyoto where beside me many high buildings, restaurants and convenience stores. Many restaurants and convenience store open 24 hours. I feel safer in Manila than in KL.

Anywhere outside of BGC is unsafe if you aren't careful. Same like KL, u can walk 10 days without kena pickpocket, but doesn't mean after that you'll still be safe.

The amount of annoying beggars are a lot in manila. They will literally follow you everywhere, even after trying to avoid.

And if you venture out of their malls and major tourist places, you will see the slum area in manila. You go tourist place of course can't see well

Makati City you see their pedestrian lane look like Singapore and Japan. In Jakarta the pedestrian Lane is unfriendly. Many dust bin, Makati one very clean. Walk on foot in Manila at 10 PM is safer than in sudirman at 8pm

Makati I mean.. I like the ambience strolling in Makati more than I am in around osaka/kyoto/Tokyo. The night is happening here. Haven't gone to Bangkok. Maybe Bangkok also surprises me like Makati one.

The only place i can safely go alone is inside BGC (Bonifacio Global City). Because they properly planned that place to attract angmo and mnc to come. That place really better than KL. But that's the only place. I wont go stroll alone in manila other than at BGC, not safe.

BGC is still empty one. Not quite nice to take a stroll at night I guess. I feel Makati more happening one than BGC. More crowd the safer it is.
