Manila is kinda boring, and the traffic jam is quite terrible. In my opinion, Bangkok offers a much better experience. For safety, it's advisable to use GrabCar for point-to-point all the way.

If pinay is your reason to go, you can consider travel to Boracay too.

For easier travel around Manila, you can use motorcycle taxi apps like Move It (Grab's motorcycle service) or Joyride. It’s generally safe to use motorcycle taxis in Manila as the cars are so slow, serious accidents are rare, most accidents are small bumps or scratches only. The fare is a lot cheaper than grabcar too, like 1/3 of grabcar fare.

But if you are using iOS, it might be slightly hassle to download the apps due to locked to phillippines Apple ID.

It's even more frustrating during rainy days, the travel time and fare will be times two, and still have to be lucky enough to get any taxi or Grabcar

Not a bad place but there are better choices elsewhere, personally I think Bangkok and HCM are more fun. Also most pinays are AMDK, they prefer koreans and caucasians than other Asians except the rich one.

Maybe their hometown is not in Manila, many of OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) are from province because it is better choice to leave their hometown to overseas where they can earn more than Manila. Maybe to them Singapore is not too much different than other Asean countries, they prefer Ang Moh countries like US, Canada more.
