Scenario
Assuming I apply for a Amex Gold Charge Card, would it be possible for me to move my existing points from my Amex Platinum Credit Card into that account and close off the Platinum Credit Card account without affecting the existing MR points I have?! |

@WaCKy-Angel,
hMm.. I'm looking at options to see how I can salvage my existing MR points without having to redeem anything for now. I believe I'll be receiving my RM800 AF soon so better start thinking of alternatives now *grins* |

@cute_boboi,
I don't remember when the AF will come; it could be in the month of Jul/August. I figured I'll wait till then, that way I can still get the 10X points when I make purchases from their Platinum partners I'll do what you suggested. Am quite certain they won't be giving me a AF waiver though. |

@Reventon,
But U have a Gold Charge Card on hand?! Which means, I should go apply for one, si? @tgeoklin, Perhaps guanteik meant the principal holders themselves ? *grins* @guanteik, Giving U the information will give an indication to the entire forum how much we earn; U think people are going to answer that question truthfully or not? @pmsoo,
The rebate value on the shopping vouchers are higher [again, depending on which voucher] so I'm checking to see if there's anything I need before I decide if I want to convert my MR to cash *grins* RM1.5k on petrol? Er..... you drive a 4 litre guzzler or what?! |

@guanteik,
U could always start a poll to check how many people are principle Platinum cardholders |

@mnjh,
Amex's 8x point rebates for petrol is applicable to Esso/Mobil. You can get the full supermarket list from their website @Reventon, oKies.. I guess I'll just go in and apply for a Gold Charge Card; got any promotions now ah?! *grins* as in, free stuff? *grins* |

@feralee,
Hmm.. that's weird. Did U key in the digits correctly and sent it to the right number? Do try again and if u do not get a respond, perhaps you could try contact the call centre. |

@princess_autumn87,
Ah well... that's not new *gulps* Perhaps you could do what hye suggested; downgrade to Gold and keep all MR points, or pay the RM800 |

@Reventon,
It's weird because when I indicated I'll cancel my card, Amex said, oK.. they'll allow me to cancel my card. They didn't offer to waive my RM800 so I went ahead to make that payment (that was last year when I initially got the card) I sure hope they be able to waive it for me this year though - but like U said, better find a way out first @princess_autumn87, You're so lucky!! |

@tgeoklin,
I did contact the CS when I saw the RM800 AF charged to my bill about 2 months after I got the card; but they didn't want to waive it off for me. I told them I'd applied for the Gold card but they'd sent me the Platinum instead and if the RM800 cannot be waived then I don't want the card. Their respond to me (and I even have it in writing) is that they will cancel the existing Platinum card. No waiver was ever given to me!! *hmph* @winner, I believe there's a clause which states that you'll have to keep the card for at least 6 months before you can actually qualify for the gift; U better check that out |

@winner,
No I haven't but usually there's such a clause. It's best if you checked with the CS. Then again, for something as small as a laptop bag, I don't think Amex will send someone to get the gift back from U, right? |

@tgeoklin,
Er.. it's going to be difficult for someone to replace my existing bff (best friend forever) @Dozz, It's really not that difficult. If there's something U want to get that's >RM3k, just go swipe the card somewhere around the last date of the month. Amex promotion calculates based on posting date, not transaction date |
