Hi all sifus

Please guide me through the steps required to switch from Maxis Fiber to Unifi without terminating my current port? Do I need to bring any documentations to TM/Unifi store?

but why? current port at ur location ngam2 & no extra port? why not just request for Maxis termination then when I get the date for the cutoff (within 2 working days for my case) straightaway request unifi to install on the same day / next day.

The steps are quite simple.
First make sure your contract has ended. Then, go to Tmpoint, mention that you want to transfer your Maxis fibre to Unifi. Usually they will give 6 months free bill, depend on which plan you select.
Complete your Unifi registration and TM will give you transfer ID. Call Maxis, inform you want to transfer out, provide the transfer ID to them. Pay any outstanding bill if you have.
Wait few days for Maxis to approve transfer. Once approve, TM will arrange technician to setup Unifi at your house.
Maxis will terminate your fibre account within 2 weeks time once Unifi is installed. There will be another final bill prorated for your Maxis fibre. Pay that bill and consider it done.

Do these steps also work exactly the same way for opposite networks, i.e. transferring over from Unifi to Maxis?

(I've been reading a common mistake which causes a lot of problems is terminating prematurely without getting a transfer ID)

Yes, it is applicable the same way regardless you transfer from Unifi, Maxis, Celcom fibre etc as long as it run on TM HSBB infra.
Those who terminate without going through the transfer process risk losing their port, especially if your area has someone in the waiting list. Once you terminate, the port will be assign to the next in line, and by the time you want to register another ISP then no port for you.

Do it middle of your monthly maxis bill. If u do it in the first few days u will feel wasted since u have to pay for the full month.

Yes go to tm get the transfer id. Call maxis to inform and reject all their offers.

Visit TM and request to port in, then they will provide you Transfer ID.

Once you received that most probably you will receive call from Maxis Retention team for offer either accept or reject that offer.

Usually there are different offer. For example x month free or free speed upgrade.
Just like offer for switching to Unifi, either you get x months free or free TV.

I recently made the switch from Maxis Fiber to Unifi. You don’t have to terminate your current port. Just head over to a TM/Unifi store with your IC and a recent utility bill. It’s also helpful to have your Maxis account info handy. They’ll handle the details and guide you through the process.

Have anyone face issue when port out from Maxis? I have tried twice to get TR ID from Unif and called Maxis to create a case to port out. Ended up both cases close with a reason im not reachable. I did not even get a call for both cases. Non ethical tactics to keep customer.

Have loged a report to MCMC, any other suggestions based on your experience?

Submitted my transfer request on 17/10, had to contact M's CS via twitter and provide them the transfer ID
Because my postpaid plan was linked to the fibre account, they need to unbind them
Requested to change my postpaid 79 to hotlink 45, they told me I need to use a month of prepaid before they allow me to switch to postpaid. I said no problem, then their retention team told me they will give me RM20 rebate on my RM79 postpaid for 3 years without any contract, so I'm keeping that number with Maxis till the rebate is over

Didnt receive and call back from their fibre department

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
22/10
Agent told me transfer request was rejected
Contacted Maxis again, they told me I need to clear the balance before they will let me go
Paid the bill for this month+another month in advance, submitted request again

Maxis called back in the afternoon, they said they are willing to counter Unifi's offer with the same 8 months bill rebate
Still, they said it is impossible to give me free access to public IP since it is an add-on service...
Ended up saying no to Maxis, but I did told the CS rep I'm happy with their service for the past 3 years, just not the price
Checked with CS rep, no need to return any of the equipments if you are out of contract

In the evening, Unifi send me the installation info for confirmation and I finally managed to install Unifi on 24/10

No way. I did it few weeks ago. When call maxis they say follow existing promo nothing special like going into maxis store.
U have to register with unifi transfer then maxis will call u give u probably same offer and ask if ok. Then maxis will cancel the transfer request. Nothing else u need to do after that.

Not like that.
You apply Unifi through agent, tell them transfer from Maxis. Agent will give you transfer ID upon registration.
You just need to wait Maxis to call you for confirmation/offer, if you agree to the offer Maxis will reject the transfer. Should you choose to proceed with transfer, Maxis will approve the request and Unifi team will set appointment for installation.
After Unifi installation, your Maxis fibre account will be terminate within 2 weeks.

Once u install then how to revert back to maxis? Agent want your commission. Follow as what the above said. That is the detailed version. Mine was giving u short version of what to do with the same outcome

Ya deswai i was wondering maybe the agent also not sure the detailed process? Let see whether Maxis will call me in these few days onot since just applied today.

Edit:
Follow up on this case is that TM they can open new port for me hence there's no need to inform Maxis beforehand nor need their permission to switch according to Maxis staff.

So becoz i butt itchy deswai i went to maxis centre to inquire about this issue. So the maxis staff help me to open new case report to let Maxis HQ know so they would do the counter offer and if maxis offer is better then can go cancel the Unifi appointment.

Then today i received maxis called me to counter offer me with 6 months free internet and reduced the monthly payment to rm99 per month for 300mbps and i accepted the offer becoz it is a better deal and i malas to do unifi installation.

1. It is automatic. Your Maxis account will run for 1 or 2 weeks and then it is terminated.
2. For refund, any amount less than Rm30 you have to call their customer service. Can also refund to your Maxis postpaid account if you have one.
