QUOTE(wesi_lim @ Nov 19 2008, 05:14 PM) but he is very itchy n keep on scratching his ears.. the situation is like when he is playing wif us.. he cant concentrate bcoz of the itchyness distraction.! =.=" i dun understand why.. the breeder gave me the feed back yst nite.. n the answer is he also no idea with this Maybe there's still some ticks, try some product like Front-Line but I dont remember whether your 2 month old puppy can apply this, please read the label or best if you could ask your doctor what product is advisable and can be applied on your puppy. You bring him to the vet yet?Your breeder's house most probably is infested with ticks & fleas. |

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Jun 14 2009, 04:49 PM) This GR of my neighbour is so irritating to most of my family members...Hahahahah Everyday after working hours sure come to my house and bark to indicate of his arrival, then we will have to feed him with Gardenia bread to keep him quiet. Something about Labrador Retriever ..very mischievous, naughty, hyperactive. If you have time to run him/her then it shouldn't be a problem. I love my Labrador, she's smart but sometimes a bit too barky and 'bad-tempered'. Her house is only 3 doors to the left but it seems my front gate is more cousy... Too bad the owner didn't really take care of her. Luckily she has me to play and feed her... Anyway, can somemone recommend me Lab retriever ah? I plan to have one for numerous reasons. Anyway, if you're looking for one, please avoid puppymills - cheap dogs - medium to big dogs like Lab are very prone to HD. Read more on the breed you're getting not the look |

QUOTE(TTY81 @ Jun 23 2009, 12:00 PM) you cant check for HD untill your puppy is 1 year old.. you have to bring your puppy for a hip scan to see their score... Hey TTY81, heard there's a dog farm in JB, want to bring your dogs there for a swim or something? I am planning a day trip for my 2 babies once the heat is over.. The only way you can check when you want to buy a puppy is to check whether if the parents of the puppies have good hip scores..this will more or less ensure that the puppies should be ok ( Nt 100% though!) technically...you are not supposed to breed the dogs unless both parents have hip scores of a certain level.. But...in malaysia..due to the demand for cheap GR..no one really care and people with a male and female GR wants to breed their puppy.. Hence you see a lot of golden retrievers here with alot of health problems... do look for a breeder that makes an effort rather than looking for cheap GR...in the end..the vet bills will more than make up the difference =0 Added on June 23, 2009, 12:04 pmmy 2 retrievers eating rambutans...LOL...deshelling the rambutans themselves...sometimes..even jumping up and plucking the rambutans themselves... lol http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=...52239973&ref=mf http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=103356434973 ![]() Maya. QUOTE(TTY81 @ Jul 10 2009, 11:14 AM) my 2 retrievers are a bit too big to fit inside my car LOL...... Hmm, not yet, because Maya is on heat.. going to spay soon though. Hey you mentioned about your retriever imported from australia, how's the temperament? It was a big baby.i know which swimming pool for dogs u refering to...so did u bringur dog there? QUOTE(kent75 @ Jul 12 2009, 02:27 PM) Hey guys, new GR owner here. I really need help from u guys about the toilet training. I've tried to place her in the toilet for 3 hours continuously when she is sniffing around for the the spot. But end up with nothing on the floor. After I release her from toilet, she is so happy playing around and I tot she is not intended to poo, but very quick she poo on the carpets when I never follow her. Her spot is so random, total 4 spots in my house. Hello, you carry her to the spot where you want her to do her business when... How? Please help. I've tried to use "PUPPY TRAINER" the spray, but it seems not working. Anyone have a solid training method? Pls, I really need help. If not i'll end up lock her up other than playing n poo+pee time. I really wish to let her run n play freely in my house, but due to the toiletry issue. Haih.... -she's running in circle or looks very 'exciting' -she's sniffing.. *anyway when a dog sniffles it's not necessarily they want to do business. for your case, when she;s pooping or peeing, dont just stand there getting mad but still carry her to the spot. yes, in the midst of her business carry her to the spot. she'll get it soon, my dog got it in 3 days |

QUOTE(cphcphcph @ Jul 12 2009, 08:54 PM) but y my puppy....oni 60~70% sucessrate in toilet train.... Heh, I dont know what kibble you're feeding your puppy but you might be overfeeding it? but a dog can never go full sumtime will pee pee other side... and isst normal a 2 month puppy eat 100~120gram for 6 times in a day? bcoz if i dun feed her....will bark non stop your puppy might be lazy or confused. whenever he's not peeing at the right spot.. this is what i'll do, carry him to the spot and then say 'good boy pees here', pat his head & praise him when he did it right everytime. QUOTE(coolerlaptop @ Jul 12 2009, 09:19 PM) my aussy GR? Nice, maya has good body structure, and she has the horsey walk, but her head is slightly smaller maybe she's a female. not very active but can be active when she tries to seek attention, very nice dog to have compared to my labrador.although he has not reached the size of my other retriever yet..i think his body structure conforms to the breed standard closely.. he is still extremely active..still a puppy...but quite obedient you posted your GR photo before, he was fluffy.. and quite a whitey, thats what i like about it. |

QUOTE(kent75 @ Jul 12 2009, 10:56 PM) If let's say she is sniffing in my living room, and then i carry her into my toilet in the kitchen, will it be too far for them ? I think around 10 feets away. Coz I've found out that she is pee-ing and poo-ing at the same place now, in my living room. If I were you I'd still do what I had done to my puppy. She did it in my living hall, i still bring her to the doctor, and praise her good dog. If you think 10 feet away is too far, then think about her peeing 10 feet away from the toilet all the time.QUOTE(cphcphcph @ Jul 13 2009, 02:09 AM) How was it? LOL, I was lucky then. I only got some pee stains. |

QUOTE(freakfingers12 @ Sep 12 2009, 09:46 AM) Uhh, are female dogs generally less inactive compared to male dogs? 'Cos I've only kept male dogs before this and they were all so active, but my new female puppy is much inactive compared to my previous male dogs. It's been a week already, so is she still missing her littermates? MY 2 FEMALES GIVE ME HELL. |

When I got my Labrador, she looked BIG BONED. Now, I must say her head is very big but not her paws which is not a good sight as her body is heavy and her paws and hips are skinny. I guess it has alot to do with 'cheap' breeding. she is MKA certified but sadly, most likely come from puppymills. She's hot tempered but sometimes she can be very loving. She's obedient yet part of her is ANGRY. You could spend 24 hours with her and the next minute she will be whining when you're outta her sight. She's going to be 4 this november. Strength of a LION even my dad hardly control her.
On the contrary, my another baby- Golden Retriever. She only barks once in a blue moon, say once a month or what. Very easy to handle, tamed and can be walked without a leash (not recommended). The only thing about her is she's very JEALOUS of my the other dog. Her head is fine but she has very big paws and flurry. I've made up my mind to spay them. ![]() Maya's paw. ![]() Here's another. ![]() ![]() |
