LOL this reminds me of my Fala ..When she was a puppy , she wouldnt let go whats in her mouth , snatching towels , soft toys , cloth materials stuff , but now she's more obedient . When she gets hold on something she will run away at first but when you ask her to 'PUT DOWN' she'll put down . I miss her so much now sad.gif

Maya another gone case , will not let go no matter what . Give food also wont let go . shakehead.gif

morning !
can any1 tell me is golden retriever a good watch dog ?    TQ.

I have a Labrador and a Golden .. My Lab never barked at strangers or lets just say she didnt bark at anything she sees but just keeps a close watch there .. After adopting my 1 year old plus Golden , she's really a good watchdog sweat.gif sweat.gif , she will bark at strangers that come close to the gates .. and ever since she's with us , my Lab barks together when they see strangers , etc .

Knowing that lab is a smart dog.  However, my brother's lab has caused us lot of problems.  He is now 7 months old, he just cannot be taught.  Everytime when we let him out, he will definitely bite our shoes, scratch our car etc.  We have no choice but to keep him in the playpen.  Wondering y is he so difficult to be trained.

My bro bought the alcana lamb and rice, 8kg.  Guess it takes his dog (7months old) to finish in 1 1/2-2 months.  Sigh.  rclxub.gif

It takes alot of time to discipline your babies . Fala made a mess outta everything inside the house when she was4 to 7 months after that she has been good til now . Now everytime she has her mouth on anything when she hears me saying 'Fala , no' , she will put down .. by herself .

Hi ppl !!! i wanna know where i could breed my female Labrador.... around KL ...?? Cheras.. or perhaps anyone erhem erhem ...
mine is 1 year old .. is it a good time for breeding??..
*
Hello ... Have you done all the neccesary readings you wouldnt want to . If you love your dog enough you wouldnt want to risk it if you're not up for that job . And ... if you're asking is it a good time for breeding ..that means you're not up for it .

I am lazy to join the dog show to campaign actually...if its in JB i will do it FOR fun..plus have to wait a long time before u can show ur dog for 5-10 mins..when i have to travel 4 hrs...not fun lol..

We did it only once in Melaka...won a CC...but then again the only GRs there were mine hahah...that was easily 10 years back.

i just enjoy having healthy GRs and having them comply to the breed standard IF i ever decide to breed them just for the sake of always having a retriever around me.

You stay in JB ?

Tho i always hear that Labrador is a very intellegent dog, i have no choice but to rebut this general rule.

Due to the hearvy rain yesterday, my sister decided to tie Renu (the male lab, 10 months old) in front of my house gate near to the living room to avoid him being caught with cold.

God knows what happened after that, he bited the wooden door and now has caused 2 big patches to the door.

I cant believe he did that.  He only dares to bully us when my bro, his onwer, is not around.

As a result of it, everyone of us was scolded by my parents till they even wanted to deport Reno and Zhu zhu (my maltese) out of the house.

Sigh... Labrador.
*
CHEWING DOESNT MEAN HE'S NOT INTELLIGENT. MY LABRADOR GROWING UP CHEWING EVERYTHING INSIDE THE HOUSE, FROM MY BRAND NEW SONY ERICSSON HP TO CUPBOARD TO SOFT TOYS BUT SHE'S THE MOST INTELLIGENT DOG I HAVE HAD. SHE MAKES ME HAPPY WHEN SHE DOESNT EVEN SPEAK LIKE HUMAN.

my dog doesn't haf appetite to meal... dono y...

damn worried here...

Being picky? My golden hadn't been eating her usual kibbles for 2 weeks. Dad was being nice and bought her canned food, bread and mostly human food for her. I went back last week and 'punished' her. I locked her inside the kennel and place her usual bowl of kibbles. Said 'EAT' in a very firm voice. Okay I must admit I was being abit too fierce towards her because she has been naughty these days maybe not enough attention given sad.gif It's my bad. So inside her kennel..she kept walking in circle and refused to eat her kibbles. Then she started to whine, very pitiful I tell you because my the other dog is also having her meal but outside the kennel. After 1 or 2 minutes she knows she has no other choice but to oblige so she eats her kibbles bit by bit...like forcefully lah. I made sure she finished her kibbles only let her out.. but I know now when I am away my dad is going to tolerate her, if she doesnt eat my dad will buy some other food to feed her.

Actually how it started is I fed her very nice food during weekends. Ever since I fed her with chicken rice, she stopped having her kibbles. I have never encountered these problem with my labrodor before but I must tell you my Maya is a picky eater. Dont know how she's doing now.

wahh simchi, ben is like maya.he loves everything from rice to fruits, but not kibbles.even with force,he doesn't like to eat.occasionally he'll eat .i think he doesn't like to eat a lot coz it is heaty.dogs also knows that.i give him rice+750gm minced meat+carrots and he loves it.

Last time I used to cook for my elder dog.. Then now I have got no time.. Maybe I should consider preparing the food for them myself when I go back for good the next 2 weeks. Want to spend more time with them very pitiful always playing on their own. But when play both very cilaka, jealousy.

i heard that there is a way to train ur dog not to eat strangers given food... but i wonder if there is a good smell of meat, i'm sure what training also useless larhh... (my opinion)

anyway, glad 2 hear that ur dog is OK now..
*
The dog trainer who used to train my dog.. He has 3 dogs and even if you force them to eat they wont eat, they will only eat when the trainer and his wife said 'EAT'.

He;s the MKA trainer if am not mistaken.
