When shushu was between 4 months old to 7 months (ugly stage), I was quite worried too. 
He look no different from a mongrel. His fur keep shedding until become short short, he was thin and scrawny looking - his body proportion was all out.

My dad was complaining why i spend all the $$ to buy him when he look just like the "wong choi" next door.   (Though he complain but he really sayang shushu also.  )
I have to keep showing them the GR pictures saying that shushu will grow to be just like that. Luckily he did....hehe

Mine sleep like a pig la esp after his walks and also in the car
The sound he makes aso like kokifung says something like vibration

When i first got him even worst, he would play for 20 mins then go sleep, when he sleep i can turn him around, play with his paws, mouth and etc without him waking up
I havent seen dogs sleep like that no wonder ppl says GR are no good as a guard dog 

My barney is friendly with everyone he'll wag his tail with whoever he sees and gets overly excited when he sees children
GRs are not suppose to be guard dogs, just let him be la after all if we want guard dogs we wouldnt even consider a GR

My GR at hometown has got the same name as your GR
My goldie at hometown also same, got stranger come he'll lie down and ask for a belly scratch
Imagine if a thief comes in, he'll be asking the thief to give him belly scratch

Yeah he is overly friendly, but then i really dont mind, cuz if i wanted a good guard dog it'll be a rott, shepard or chow.

Havent seen any GR in porn dvd sniffing operations woh

My dog dont even bark at dogs
Other dogs bark at him he just ignores them
Strangers he will wag his tail
Sometimes i wonder whether barney consider himself a dog or a human

Mebbe your Shushu is play deprived ?
He gets his morning and evening walk everyday and most of the time he'll be tired, he'll sit like a roast pig watching me doing my stuff but as a puppy he does have his fair share of playfulness and naugtiness e.g nipping, jumping and i'd correct him straight away
As he is a large breed dog, its not fun to see a large breed overly excited dog jumping on some small kid or nipping away at them

Could be three possibilities:

1. The tone of your voice when giving commands is different from her previous owner, she may be confused. 
2. Lacking training, no practice to reinforce commands - she might have forgotten the commands already.     
3. You may have spoilt her that she thinks there's no need to listen to you!

They like to do this all the time. GR are great with other dogs too!   

digging hole is one of my CoCo's hobby...another hobby is playing water...everytime she's drinking, one of her leg will be stepping inside her water bowl...

thanks..he's cute,my neighbor said he's so huge for his age.i said he has big bones lor.just like his parents.
big ben is real handsome boy lei....how long will ben need to be like him?he still has short fur but growing longer
