Because it was a space race during cold war between US and USSR to see who could reach the moon first to raise one country's pride. If moon landing was fake, USSR would be the first one to dispute it. Why didn't USSR do that? Because USSR knew that it is real and the space race to the moon was over.

Why no one going there since then? The technology was there but just "too expensive" to send human beings to moon.

Now why people interested to try to go to moon again? It is because the space race flame is lit again between US and China to go to Mars. Because Moon is a stepping stone to go to Mars.

There is no dispute because Putin was not allowed to check all the astronauts before they fly out. Did you check the space craft before they fly off? What also no check all jus talk only.

First moon landing was a race to see who reach first. No fame or bragging rights for 2nd or third. So no point sending more people which is very high risk and very high cost. There is basically nothing there so just send robots etc to collect samples.

Actually there is really no reason to go there beyond mining and pride, even if the mining also not sure can be profitable or not.

Even going to Mars alrd sound so dangerous. I dont see how they can make it profitable within a generation.
