For RO2, poring is not transparency. I watch the game trailer. kinda bad!! Poring suppose to be transparent. But for RO2, it was not transparent

ya, transparency eats a lot of resources... have to render both the background and the foreground, then blend the image, remove alias...... compare to the non-transparent version, it's much slower... and if there's an event that lots of porings will appear at the same time, those with slow pcs will jam... hmmm... but as a fan art, it should be half transparent...
ps~ at least add a few reflection, more specularity, adjust edge transparency and apply some fresnel if available in your software... This post has been edited by Stupid Khor: May 30 2006, 02:38 AM |

Poring?
Hmm I did one 2 years ago... I reposted it one year ago, and now I have an all new poring to show off! ![]() I think the size and color is not correct because my monitor is spoilt (every color is green in my monitor and the screen is made of thin vertical strips But... on the plus side, I have caustics and global illumination! As opposed to my older ones: http://blog.chewxy.com/archives/2005/09/17...oring-old-news/ Software: 3DSMax 7 Time taken: 20 minutes Contains: Raytrace, FG, GI, Caustics... screen spoilt? have you tried to degauss? sometime you need to degauss very often if your screen location is near to an electromagnetic device, for your screen's longer life...
ps~ hehe... that poring's reflection is too high... This post has been edited by Stupid Khor: May 30 2006, 01:54 PM |

nothing to be sorry about. btw... the index of refraction of jelly is about 1.44, and since porings are made of jelly.... XD

Some test with RealFlow. Its really pain in the ass to tweak it. The simulation for 300 frames took bout one whole days and another whole days to render it out.

I use RealFlow (http://www.nextlimit.com/realflow/) for the simulation. RealFlow is a standalone program, which you can import mesh from any other software.
I use Max at work and Maya at home. |

You can use Realflow for free. It's just that the program becomes extremely annoying.
lauyah, nice shaders. |
