No offense chewxy, but was that the James model in Poser? Or was it just a lookalike... (you definately sell it online with better textures @ Renderosity)

Model is quite good now, you need to touchup the textures a little bit.

You can use Realflow for free. It's just that the program becomes extremely annoying.

lauyah, nice shaders.

I hope this doesn't get frowned upon (no "actual polygonal/NURBS modelling going around here), just a WIP of something I'm doing (I still don't have a clear idea where this is going, fancy or pure.)

This overhang terrain with ecosystems (i.e. the "forest") took 20+ mins to render in Vue 5 Infinite at not-so good settings with Global Illumination. It's very primitive and unpolished (invisible in render, obvious in wireframe) because everything isn't "consciously" modelled, just painted, deformed and edited heightmaps.

C&Cs appreciated.

HOLY...

Dude.. you so gotta render a large large hi res version of it.

As of now, I am humbly pwnt

Thx for the encouragement man! blush.gif

Have been rendering since yesterday night, now it's at 21% with approx 60 more hours to go (I'm confident that it'll finish tomorrow, however rclxm9.gif )

I don't really have faith in this one, on fear of assumed (spitefully by others) as taking source content from samples- the whole thing, including terrain, ecosystem, atmosphere, lighting, are self-made/placed/bought from Renderosity. It darn looks like Eran Dinur's Cerdo Verde however, and that's the main concern.

Final piece:user posted image
Although this is the finished piece, I'll be sending another stylized version to my online portfolios.

90+ hours @ 2560*1706, HDR and G-buffer, postwork on multipass because damn thing was freakingly noisy even at high quality settings.

Actually, I'm a n00b at 3DS MAX, I use Vue 5 Infinite as a scene creator.
Procedural Terrains + Ecosystems with prebuilt trees, it's quite easy (tweaking it to perfection, however, can make you mad. XD)
I got some of my tips here:
http://www.asilefx.com/product_tut_vue5adv_01.html

The other stuff, I got from the Renderosity Vue forums. biggrin.gif

I dunno about Rhino, quite pening...
Well, I can't stand NURBS concept. tongue.gif Polygons for me.
mufasa: Great models. Get them into 3DS and use Brazil for sexy rendering.

You've got a lot of the stuff right, but lighting and texturing could be reworked to be much better. biggrin.gif

andriel, I think they are RPC characters. (Google Archvision)
I might be wrong though.

BTW here's a finished image of my fun with the new version of Realflow:

hi,

i did it using photoshop. firstly I got my human models to sit the exact position I want them to based on my interior rendering and I put them in manually. Had to pay them though, vampires...!!  biggrin.gif

Using RPC is okay but it's expensive. Hey, you guys wanna share models or not..?  biggrin.gif
*
I have a link where *AHEMMMMMMMMM* and there's lots of RPC content (annoying for the casual browser like me, though) wink.gif
You'll have to mark down the dates to register in said site, however.

@LOSD
Nice stuff!
Realism is easy: Experiment with the Tone mapping settings in vRay. NEVER ever put people in a final scene (final =/= client pic) where you wanna show your chops. biggrin.gif Use high resolution textures with Color/Diffuse, Bump and Specular maps and don't overdo the bump.

That's it! (2 hours more work tongue.gif)

Ma. Ma. MIA. <3 what the nodal system did, ICE looks like a nice experiment.

Will be trying it after my UEC finals. Hopefully will get a 1920 monitor to work with, lol.

Whoa, why did Essentials pricing jump that much?

It *was* ~USD700 for XSI 4-6.5 I think. Geez...
