click blindly at first... then remembered the way I learn photoshop, so I started to follow some tutorial... while following them I tried to remember the functions of all tools, so that I can make my own models next time... now still a beginner, and those are simple models I can model... hehe...

well, I really hope I can be as good as them (those in page 1 - 42)... T_T

Don't know anybody asked this question before. What machine are you guys using for modelling and rendering 3D? What are the specs like? Thanks.

ermmm... I have another question here......

have you guys ever heard about a machine that does non-realtime rendering jobs? as I know it's in a cube shape, but I never see one before... and I heard that with just some seconds, it can render an image which takes hours to render with ordinary graphic card... besides, Blizzard company has broke 20+ of them in the making of Warcraft (not sure it's Frozen Throne or wow)...

well, I just want to know what's the name of that machine... any idea? blink.gif

you have a nice start.. i think you should smooth out your model like applying something like meshsmooth inside the 3dmax. Donno what LW called it.

to control the subpatch smoothing, you have to modify the subpatch weight and subpatch division...

for subpatch division, press [O] in modeler, you can modify it in that option panel...

for subpatch weight...
- in the right bottom side of your modeler, select SubPatch Weight in the drop down box...
- depend on your situation, you may select some points/polygons
- go to the Map tab, press the Weights button and fire up the numeric panel
- change the falloff mode if you need to
- either use your mouse to drag or control the weight using numeric panel...

hehe... that's all for controlling subpatch I guess... subpatch is actually a useful tool to do organic modelling... hehe... though I know the way to control it I still couldn't do it well... must practice more... tongue.gif
