This is WIP, done by my friend, sent to me for lighting and texturing. It was modelled based on the General Grevious toys my friend owns.

Originally, we wanted to use Mental Ray + GI + HDRI... but in the end we had to fake every single light. This is because if we use Mental Ray + GI alone... it'd take us about 7 days to render 1 picture.
You know... General Grevious actually looks pitiful, like a sad dog, from certain angles....

Time taken to model = +/- 3 months (on and off)
Time taken to render = 1 minute per picture
Time taken to texture = +/- 1 month
Time taken to remodel (bad original model) = 2 months solid
And this is not complete. It will be used in a few shots of the Last Jedi, my upcoming Star Wars CG movie.
People in LucasArts spent about 2.5 years making Grevious.
