No, this has nothing to do with Stormtroopers. Mere coincidence.

I had to increase my mental ray bucket size (hence making the AA less), due to computer resource problems. This pic took about 4 mins to render. The full version, with proper RT and HDRI lighting, and etc... took about 1 hour to render per frame... but with not much difference.

Anyone has any ideas on how to decrease rendertime without buying a new rig

this is a tarantula battletank render i did 2 years ago as a requisite to enter lim kok wing and skipping the stupid foundation years. no real textures coz at that moment i dunno how to unwrap the poly and assigning textures. done wholly in max 5. render setting using 3 omni and lightracing

So, I changed my career to programming (since I am an IT graduate)..

My advice to you all, dont give up untill you finish your rendering, work hard, practice make perfect....
There are many talents out there in Malaysia, Limkokwing ke, The One ke.... quite lots of animator did produce some very good jobs....

Quadros help by doing hardware rendering... i.e using the nvidia graphic processor to render instead of your pentium 4

Ic.....Things like NvIDIA Gelatos is kinna for thie real time rendering huh? u'll get realtime shadows and all, using directx shaders in say, max? Kinna wut they use for gaming i think...
