when buying better check kaw2 dis phone especially the memory card connector

For 6500s users got problems,u can do the following steps

1,check ur beaty's firmware version.Normally it is 4.81, key in *#0000# and check it.If already 4.84,no nid 2 upgrade.
2,lower than 4.84,pls go www.nokia.com.my,go 4 "Get support and software",using the Nokia PC Suit, to upgrade 2 the latest version.
*If ur hp is AP set, and u nid Chinese display,be aware:some AP dealer maybe flashed English Chinese S40 OS to a Euro or US set,that means when u upgrade, Nokia software will detect ur beauty is from Euro or US then upgrade with a ONLY English Version S40 OS.Then u can't read and input Chinese anymore.

Other tips
4 u wanna buy AP set, in case the dealer will give a recon set(though this phone is new, but u don't know, rite?),so key in *#92702689# to verify,normally new set should "0000".
If u beauty hang, key in *#7370# for softreset or *#7780# to restoer to facorty default.

Try these methods maybe help u a little bit. haaaa

No GPS module in tis phone. But u can spend less than RM800 2 buy a Nokia Wireless GPS Module LD-3W which uses Bluetooth connecting 2 ur phone, then can already... Happy driving,remember go home!!!

2day went 2 Loywat finally got my beauty back.

2G Sandisk Micro SD - RM80(Tis a little bit expensive)

First thing 2 do surely is to charge the battery (Coz the battery toally drain out,so charged 4 more than 2 hours)

Second thing updated to the latest S40 latest version 4.84. Online updateing it took around 30 mins (The files is 40.2MB).Luckily nothing bad happened,really worried.If updated not successful,become a brick,I will cry ohhh.

Now even in Lowyat the dealers don't have many stocks.After Chinese New Year like that 1.Price also quite different.AP from RM1300 down 2 my one RM1130.

Dont like the Music Player.Not like winamp,I can't choose a folder 2 play all the songs in it.Same like the Windows Media Player or iTunes,I really hate it! And u know Y lah,all my MP3 songs are pirated 1.(Sori...)

Ya,thx.I asked around more than 10 counters @ lowyat,finally found this price.The most important thing is that all the items are genuin 1(After all checking by myself,I believe lah).They told me b4 CNY was cheaper,now not many stocks for 6500s,so the price goes up.

My 1 is AP set,from the box I can tell this set is from Singtel (Singapore lah),so the manual even got Chinese.And the product code is 0549750 (whick is under the battery on the mainboard, indicates the HP is for which country or area) also confirm is for Singapore.

The battery can last quite long, I mean after 1st time fully charge,played around 4 hrs nonestop,still got 1/3 power.

I use Sandisk 2G card,taking 3~4 seconds 2 save in the memory card.Quite slow,but nve mind,the camera is jaz 4 fun.If wann take for good pictures,I still believe DC.U see all the camera's lens, so tiny,10 times smaller than the conventional DC. What do u expect it will come out decent photos??!! Luckily got Auto Focus, make it feel like a camera.

V disappointed with the Media Player, even can't play AVI format.3GP ONLY!!!Hve 2 look 4 3rd party softwares.

With 2G card, the phone is not slow, only after switching on, u better wiat 4 30 seconds then start 2 play.

The scratch keypad problem I also got, on 2,3,6.Cant' do anything.

i heard the cam is quite good..one of the best for s40..nway, as a cameraphone (any cameraphone) we cannot to expect more..
so, do u encounter any memory card reader prob?

If u compare 2 a 2M without autofocus n LED flash.Actually this camera is same as the N73 the almost 1st autofocus camera phone from Nokia,then u know N serials camera come 2 middle range 6000 serials.So sure it is quite a good value buy.Somemore I saw the pictures comparison with N73,the colour of 6500s is more natural.,that is what I like.Even the 6500s camera menu simpler than the N73's,but the result of photos almost the same,even better.Like the micro shooting,not much difference from N73(which got micro mode),I mean from our layman eyes can't tell.

Quite a lot dealers told me 4G Micro SDHC makes the phone slower,I believe that.So I choose the 2G Micro SD,so far no complain.The so called SD card problem mentioned here is like that - Wen u open the back cover,u can't use the files in the card, ocz there is a protection device there in case accidently hot swap damage the files in the card...

OK, that's all.

yup, got the zitron one @ rm1400 with 1GB memory card ...

i have a pouch for my slider and always carry it inside my handbag to avoid scratches, but the weird thing is whenever there's call, once i take out my phone fr the pouch, n b4 even able to c who's actually callin, my 'high-tech' 6500s wil automatically answer the calls for me without havin me pressing on any keys..??!!::

WHY??!!

hai..im new here...just bought it form lyn member..nice phone so far but the firmware bit left behind..3.80? add me into list

In my case, not only that, it also rejects a call when i take it out from pouch.
Plus the phone unlocks itself when putting into / taking out the pouch.

It seems the pouch magnet pulls the front pad. Even if I put the phone on top the pouch and slide abit, it will also unlock.

I had to take out 1 magnet from the pouch. It lessen the issue a bit.
i also set autolock after 30s.

Find a pouch with 1 magnet only the side or better those which uses velcro.

and the front camera is of wat resolution?

i think it is not limited one..but very rare

it's already available in Singapore. not sure when will it reach Malaysia though.
