Come on guys..if the rule is pre existent and not an afterthought retrospective law, then it is only fair for everyone to respect the law. You don’t have to agree or be happy about it but respect for the rule of law is the way of a civilised society.

Binding books also can be guilty. Might as well paper glue ink must be halal sourced, the transportation must be only Muslim & basically all must be no nons involved.

But will crying father and crying mother here do anything other than make the complainant look impotent and incompetent? If one truly feels so strongly about the unfairness, then one can try to change it by joining political parties and affecting change lawfully.

Not sure what the fuss is about. It's the printing company that was fined not the innocent binder company so I think it's the right course of action (according to existing law) since the onus is on the printing company to know the law.

That's true. The Buddhist only care for the content, not the 'container'. As long as the teaching content is right, anyone is free to bound the books.
