I watched both Street Kings and L.A. Confidential back to back without knowing both were written by the same person. Street Kings was okay, above average flick with an awful performance from Forrest Whitaker. Quite entertaining while it lasts.

L.A. Confidential on the other hand.... I cant believe it's taken me this long to watch one of the best films of the 90s. Gobsmackingly brilliant all the way. It looks great, never slows down, is wonderfully written, and features strong performances all round. Just one of the greats. I didnt think it would be this astonishingly good.

There's a reason why most movie fans think that LA is the best film in 1997, better than you know what. I thought Guy Pearce stole the show for me, amazing performance.

And I agree. He didn't completely 'steal' the show, but he was the best on show. Any movie with Crowe being the least impressive among the leads speaks for itself in terms of the acting involved.

A top 10 movie of the decade for sure.

Watched Max Payne last evening, and gawd the film suk hueg tiem. Negligible amount of bullet tiem, lousy storyline, poor choreography and the acts failed to deliver. Rating is 0.5/10, as my expectation is shattered to bit.

Just watched a japanese movie entitle "Quill", a storyline about a dog that leads the blind, from it's birth to it's growing up, to it's training, to meeting it's blind owner, to how the owner died... and finally how it died..

Normal ppl would take the movie to be boring, but i rate it 10/10. Ya, it's less interesting, no any special effect or special theme music or love story or sex or naked guys and gurls or politic or pretty actress.... but the meaning behind the story, it really proven that animals are no less emotional-sensitive than human, in fact they proven to be more loyal, able to make decisive actions instantaneously far better then human.

Again, the title is "Quill" smile.gif

indeed.

Just watched Mendes's Jarhead. Not your typical Black Hawk Down kinda war flick but I still thought it was good. Action were minimal but it wasn't too ponderous and political either.

Great movie. the oil well scenes were stunning! ohmy.gif

Wanted - I really liked this. Worth seeing just for Morgan Freeman's expression at the end! laugh.gif

A walk to remember, based on a novel. 6 years old movie:D. Starred by Shane West and Mandy Moore.

This movie was recently rated as one of the best romance movies by Yahoo. So decided to give it a shot. Haha it was okay until the part after Jamie told Landon that she has leukemia and has stopped responding to treatments.
Gf actually cried after she had seen what Landon did just to make Jamie happy and so blabla4.

Well I don't really favour romance movies but sometimes it gives an idea for you to cheer your partner up:P
