You know what, not many people do!

And I have to add, I like it LOT.

Andy Wachowski & Larry Wachowski made it for they inner child, and people who has not lost their appreciates that!!

Nuff said.

SR was real fun, I pity those who overlooked its "cartoonish" outlook.

I'm sorry, I should have made myself clearer. What I meant by underrated was that it should have made ALOT more in terms of Box Office (> US Box Office of USD 145,000,989)! smile.gif

The Last House on the Left (2009)

Bad things happen to good people and then good people turned bad-ass!! smile.gif

Saw the unrated version and boy is it VIOLENT!!

Interesting to see Tony Goldwin (great grand son of Metro Goldwyn Mayersm also know for his role of ashole in Ghost and Disney's Hm Hm Hm Tarzan!) as father roles and the kid from Gladiator and Unbreakable al grown up!

If you like VIOLENT movie, the unrated version of this movie is for u (especially the closing scene!!!)
*
The closing scene as in the microwave scene? It was such a stupid and ridiculous scene lah.. The movie was overall just decent entertainment.

btw, 150 million is actually quite a good turnover, some good films (Oscar films) never pass the 100 million mark.

You should have seen the deleted scene of that scene on the DVD/BD!! tongue.gif

I like the First Shrek, Flush Away and Kung Fu Panda.

Wow, if you haven't watched happy Feet, I can only imagine how you would react after watching it! (I can still remember the FIRST time I watch it!!)

Go on, give yourself a treat and watch it!! nod.gif

I actually rank Shrek 1 in the top of Dreamworks list, and in the same podium as the good Pixar movies. Flushed Away and Happy Feet were good animation but it lacks that touch that Pixar always seem to be able to conjure. KungFu Panda was funny though.

Hmmmm.... In my opinion, what Happy Feet lack in terms of "The Pixar" touch, it made up for the clever use of music!! smile.gif

I can't remember how the music went actually, will have to rewatch it.

I Love You, Man is by far the funniest movie of the year, even funnier than the much acclaimed The Hangover.

Last movie I watched was Defiance.
Awesome shop to be honest. I like how the story is told.
Could feel Daniel Craig's British accent at some points laugh.gif
*
I liked Defiance too but it just didn't managed to reach the heights the likes of The Pianist achieved.

The Pianist was great yes...but i think Schindler's List takes the cake for being the most realistic...feel like watching a documentary...

Schindler's List > The Pianist > Defiance

Schindler's List is one of my fav movies, I have to agree with you. It's not just realistic, it's brutally honest.

Ponyo was a good movie but I was actually slightly underwhelmed with it, considering it's a Miyazaki movie. It's the same feeling I got with Totoro ( this i can understand, it's an 80s movie if im not wrong). It's simple, straightforward but it just doesn't bring you to the next level the way Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke did. I'd also recommend Porco Rosso and Naussica.

Match Point - I think I've lost count on how many times I've actually watch this masterpiece. This is perhaps my favorite Woody Allen movie and i think it's because Woody isn't in it hence a different Woody genre altogether. It's classy albeit slow moving. I like the opera soundtracks, the streets of London, the art galleries, the rich family and how they gel together to tell us a haunting and mind pondering movie. The actors were wisely cast and kudos to Woody for writing an awesome screenplay. I particularly liked the last few scenes of the movie where the police came into the picture. I like how Woody made a "satire" out of the whole movie. Great film 4.5/5.

I hated How to Alienate People and Lose Friends. Simon Pegg isn't funny at all being in an American comedy. It was so contrived. How is the script clever and witty without the british influence in it?

Hi Makakeke. To start off, you are English right??! smile.gif

I think that is the whole point! Simon Pegg sees the lighter side of things but the rest of the "Americans" are so upright! (Interesting how American think that the British are the uptight ones!!)

>without the british influence

Er... Doesn't Simon Pegg standing up singing England England whilst the band is playing Yankee Doodle count??

It is just a matter of opinion. There is no need to bite anything off!! tongue.gif
*
No I'm not english, I'm a Malaysian tulen.

No i don't mean the characters in the movie, i'm referring to him as an actor. He was doing more than fine with Edgar in Hot Fuzz, Shaun, etc and when I heard that he's doing a Hollywood film with Megan Fox, I knew the movie will turn out like this - a dry and forgettable film. What I mean with the british influence is because so often their script and writing is much more sharper and wittier than the conventional American comedy. Have you watched Big Nothing? He stars in it with David Schwimmer, now that's also a good comedy. There's nothing original about How to Alienate People and Lose Friends, all they did was made a doofus out of Simon Pegg over and over again and it's not even funny. In other words, it's not a film I would want to watch again. Unless I want to see Megan Fox of course.

Haha

"It's utterly shit, but you cant resist groaning and laughing at the same time" is how I describe Borat to my friends.
*
It's very different from Borat.

Bruno is plain pathetic, it's humour no one can enjoy. In fact, I wonder which person on earth can actually enjoy the entire movie. I admit there are some funny scenes - the imaginary blow job scene was gross and hilarious but other than that NOTHING!

I love Borat. I watched it 5 times or so already. Bruno? Once more than enough.

Banlieue 13 and Banlieue 13-Ultimatum. The former was a great movie. Pulsating, fresh, kinetic and everything an action movie needs. It was like watching Crank and Lock Stock meshed together. The sequel however was a recycled product, nothing original. What a waste of time. My recommendation - watch the first movie.

I wouldn't necessary call Louis Leterrier who directed The Incredible Hulk a hollywood director. He is french and had done alot of other stuff (in France and not hollywood).

He is currently working on the New Clash of the Titans.

I still think that the new version of Hulk has merits too!

To each their own I suppose!! icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on September 22, 2009, 10:51 pmA Few Good Men

Wow, have not seen this for a while, and was taken aback by how many big names are attached to this drama!!? Am a great fan of Rob Reiner (director of The Princess Bride). Also am still very impress with how the cast "brought it" to the movie, making this drama movie VERY engaging and entertaining.

Good job Rob!! smile.gif

A Few Good Men is probably the only movie that I acknowledge Jack as a credible actor. That's the truth.

So... you didn't like as good as it gets and bucket list??  hmm.gif
*
Nope I don't like them both. As good as it gets - what's so great about it? It's just a rom-com for the older folks and Jack was just Jack, i don't understand his and Helen Hunt's Oscar either. Bucket List was a little pushing the limits - it's unbelievable and to be honest, it's kinda tiring seeing him and Morgan Freeman playing the same role for over 30 years now. Maybe not Jack but at least for Morgan.

Yeah Road to Perdition is one hell of a movie. My favourite Mendes picture. Some fantastic acting in there.

Drag Me To Hell - Watched it with my little brother and sister. Apparently my 14-year-old brother can appreciate gross-out humour better than my friends. lol. The movie was better than when I last saw it, but I still have the same problems with it. Decent.

Oh yea I thought Christine was sympathetic. I dont understand how so many people can call her evil and cold hearted. It's exactly what anyone of us would do.

It's deliberate. Vol. 1 and 2, both damn fine movies.

GI Joe - This was supposed to suck! Everyone I trust who has seen it says its worse than Transformers 2! The trailers looked did the opposite of whetting my appetite! I really wanted this to suck so bad so that I could proclaim to my friends who liked it "how can you call this turd a good movie?!". Oh boy. I enjoyed it. It's not miles better than Transformers 2. It's immeasurably better. It gave me a slight Spy Kids vibe, a good sense of fun and some obviously bad and cheesy CGI (which I think was deliberate). You miss nothing by not watching it, but it's harmless fun.

Plus that Rachel Nichols girl is hot! So that's another reason to see this instead of TF2.

Not everything is deliberate.
