those senior will move the other way.

Easier said than done. Trade down from 3 bedroom or landed to studio or care home is more realistic and likely.

Even foreign labor like bangla construction workers or nepalese security have more than RM10k in their bank…

Just those have less than 10k maybe they have alot of cash in bank just not in epf … so epf not a correct indicator for wealth …

Malaysians can simply open a small gerai in the middle of the road sell burgers or nasi lemak which can earn decent living .. no need to pay taxes or epf … cash rich … maybe drive Alphard and stay banglo …

A typical /ktards have more money in epf than Najib and Rosmah … dont mean they are richer …

All the numbers can be manipulated and understood differently to fit the story of the storytellers … when gov wanna convince people not to withdraw, they will use the number in different way, when gov wanna show how good they govern they will look at different data banks to tell story differently…

I don't think they manipulated the numbers but I agree the stats is not a good indicator of wellbeing...

1) Some of them started work at early age then quit job do own business.... because they stop contributing to EPF... people tot they poor with less than RM10k...

2) Some migrated shortly after working in Malaysia....

3) Stats may include fresh grads or younger people...

I highly doubt there are many who have less than RM10k at the age of 55 because even if you earn minimum wage for more than 30 years.... you would still have more than RM10k in contribution...
