PS4 was supposed to end life cycle 3 years back but prolong to make as alternative for people due to PS5 shortage.

I want to highlight again. That is wrong. Console lifespan before the launch of each gen has always been 6 to 7 years, not 10 years.

PS1 - 1994/1995 (depending on Japan/US)
PS2 - 2000
PS3 - 2006
PS4 - 2013
PS5 - 2020

Lifespan from launch date to officially discontinued date. Because they are still selling though?

PS4 not discontinued yet. Still got games. Now is 2024. So already more than 10 years. Precious poster statement was wrong. PS5 will likely survive another 3 years after PS6 launch as well

If you never play any of the PS4 games before then you have this whole library of new games (they are new games to you if you never play them before) to play until you puke blood.
Any old console are worth getting especially if it can be easily jailbroken.
