QUOTE(Nightstalker93 @ Feb 21 2024, 11:08 AM) I don’t think they will end the cycle so soon as PS5 is going into the usual high demand cycle after 4 years. The next 3 or 4 years will determine whether it will outsell PS4 and PS5 but looking at the sales, I think it will probably outsell PS4 and PS5 but can’t reach PS2 level which is god like sales numbers 😝 |

QUOTE(CommodoreAmiga @ Feb 21 2024, 10:05 AM) New Switch coming this year or latest rumour delayed until early next year. Don't buy Switch now. It's definbitely the last year for the Switch before Switch 2. that depends actually if switch 2 offers backwards compatibilty. if it is, then yes wait for switch 2. however can foresee the launch price go over 2k-3k ++ due to our shit currency. and plus, rumors- so take it with a grain of salt.if TS want a cheap console and myriad library of games now, better get the OG switch. its cheap enough, you can get 1 around rm1.1k . A much better buy compared to the PS4. PS4 feels terribly dated, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. This post has been edited by MegaCanonF: Feb 21 2024, 10:28 AM |

QUOTE(O-haiyo @ Feb 21 2024, 09:47 AM) Depend on which tier of game you buying, I mainly buy first party game from nintendo only and it usually at the highest tier range.for higher tier games (first party games from nintendo, USD59.99, except Zelda: TOTK, USD69.99) can be find around RM190~RM220 in shopee, but also depend on demand and popularity sellers may jack up the price. I usually wait until around RM200 or lower (with voucher) only consider to buy, but for my case I don't mind waiting longer to buy for cheaper price, or if 2nd hand is worth it, but most of the time not for game I looking for, the price just make me buy new instead because price differ very minimal. |

Looking at Nintendo history, most likely it will have backward compatibility for same product line, unless they came out with new product line just like Wii -> Switch last time.if TS want a cheap console and myriad library of games now, better get the OG switch. its cheap enough, you can get 1 around rm1.1k . So backward compatibility is a given. Nintendo themselves has mentioned (indirectly) there will be ease of transition from current Nintendo accounts. Nintendo will keep using Nvidia since AMD doesn't provide ARM SoC for handheld at the moment. Also ARM is better for handheld form factor since it's more power efficient and Nvidia new custom Tegra SoC (codename Drake based on leaks) is said to pack DLSS and RTX capabilities so it is very beneficial for Nintendo to stay on Nvidia route.Rumors said graphics will be PS4 for handheld and PS4 Pro for docked mode. But it's still good for me since it's hybrid handheld ma, not your classic home console. |

maybe save up for ps5 slim digital, you can add disc drive later.
i waited 3 years baru bought the ps5. my old ps4 disc drive rosak, and jet engine liao if play God of war. if you are fine without playstation exclusive, you can get Xbox series S and Game pass. I've use it for over a year, i like it. if you have kids, can get the oled nintendo switch. |

QUOTE(nazrul90 @ Feb 21 2024, 10:53 AM) Sony already announced la bro that they already entering the end cycle phase of this gen. PS6 will probably launch in late 2026 or early 2027 so that's about 6 years, 4 years shorter than usual console lifespan. This post has been edited by amysthe: Feb 21 2024, 11:09 AM |

in terms of backward compatibility, ps5 can play most of your ps4 library of games.
but for series s/x it can play all of the xbox one, xbox 360 or some old 1st gen xbox game. for switch, don't expect their game on sale digitally. better buy used copy if you're in tight budget. and their backward compatibility is non existence in Switch. my OG switch is sitting collecting dust right now. only turn on if there's a good AAA game comes out. |
