how you know your water got heavy metals?

we don't (unless we send water sample to labs), water filtration is an optional preventive measure. icon_rolleyes.gif

RO water not good for those healthy.... RO water specility for those have kidney problems...
*
Debatable.

RO is purest no bacteria no vitamins no minerals. But what water needs to do (rehydrate) it definitely serves its purpose.
Those minerals whatsoever even exists in water also wouldnt make much difference coz the amount is too little.
Jew can get minerals from food.

On the other hand, alkaline water imo too much is not good.

LG filter rental only RM50 per month.

Free maintenance and filter exchanges

If got relocation, free summor.

and got warranty coverage for the whole rental period.

RM50?

I do see the LG Puricare with RM60/mth promotion, but that is commitment for years that will totalled RM5k plus.

The cheapest way is to install a sand filter outside your house, install an activated carbon filter in your kitchen and boil the water before drinking.

If you have more budget, find a way to add UV filter into your system. If you have even more budget, you can add more filters in your kitchen. If the sand filter does most of the work, your filters should last longer.

Most big brands already make it a convenient filter packaging (and it come with convenience tax of course). Panasonic all in one filter is fairly cheap, easy to use and replace. You can install that after the sand filter in the kitchen.

I do boil for drinking water, so UV is redundant and boiling wins over UV any day.

Panasonic basic filter is just basic activated carbon filter (same with my current Joven filter), they don't filter out heavy metals.

Ayam using Coway its around RM50/month free warranty free change filter and cleaning. Ayam not sure how more budget is budget.

Some ppl say buy bottled mineral water is cheaper.

Both water machine and bottled water also u wont really know the filtration really works or not unless u so sample test frequently.

Btw imo dont need to be that kiasi. Ayam bet the probability of death by accident is higher chance than death by heavy metal.

I'm using Aquasana and find that it's quite good. Water has no weird taste and it's according to 4 NSF standard. Filter manufactured in US. They're a big water filter company with commercial solutions too. So, it will not be too bad.

Heavy metals in drinking water also causes harm to the lungs, liver, kidneys, and other vital organs. Heavy metals are also known as carcinogens that can cause cancer.

If immediate die no suffering (ayam prefer heart attack wink.gif ), but more likely we get organs damage over prolong exposure to heavy metals in drinking water that leads to long term suffering.

The amount makes a difference in the long run, and it also changes the composition of the water. RO water is slightly acidic which is not good for your kidneys. It also makes the water less stable due to the lack of minerals, which means it can leach of whatever it comes into contact with. Which potentially leads to more toxicity (metal/plastic from pipes/bottle/cups/etc)/

You can mitigate all these factors, but its effort you really have to put in.
