If not mistaken normal table top filter with single active carbon filter will not filter out heavy metals from our raw water.

Any recommendation for budget water filter that will do the job?

Got RO filter that is budget friendly?

anything that is cheaper than all those plans that adds up to thousands over the period, preferably user just buy and replace filter cartridge on our own.

This is the normal activated carbon filter that I mentioned, they supposedly unable remove heavy metals, only filter out chlorine, rust and sediments. I've been using similar filter but Joven brand.

The product description never mentioned filtering out heavy metals.

The single cartridge replacement is only around RM170, for one person use I think it will last very long before need replacement.

that one don't remove heavy metals, that's simple activated carbon filter that removes chlorine, odour and rust.

Hope u didn't drink those water, seem like very bad for health without any filtration.

I'm using the Joven activated carbon filter similar to Panasonic basic filter, I always boil the water for drinking purpose.

I read carbon filter over time will breed germs inside (filter removed chlorine hence germ can breed), you should not direct drink filtered water with simple activated carbon filtration.

Seems like just another activated carbon filter that don't mention filtration of heavy metals.

It's a red flag when they just vaguely mentioned "other harmful contaminants" without being specific.

heavy metals are not minerals you should ingest though...

Currently using Joven, I think the Cosway filter mentioned in post one is a step up still within reasonable price that have the extra benefit of removing more than just activated carbon filter.
