It's kinda sad tho. Of all the three storyline, for me Unlimited Blade Works was the best. Heaven's feel was too depressing to be honest, and what's more, Rin is a better heroin in Heaven's feel than Sakura or Ilya, which kinda makes less sense than UBW, considering that HF was supposed to be about Sakura and more or less Ilya as well...
UBW deserved a better adaptation than this. |

Holy shit, this UBW is fcking horrible. My god, this movie sucks so bad, I facepalmed throughout the entire fcking movie. As a FSN fan I'm quite devastated at this terrible piece of crap.
I'm sad. Added on October 14, 2010, 2:16 am QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Oct 13 2010, 03:30 PM) It was crucial because it lacked lubrication. This post has been edited by Silencers: Oct 14 2010, 02:16 AM |

I have to say though, Kenji Kawai music for the movie is awesome. Loved the OST, already ordered it. UBW deserved a better adaptation than this. The movie tries hard but just that it did not live up to hardcore fans expectations. Many of my anime friends who were less hardcore TYPE-MOON fans kinda liked the movie though. From what I knew, it did not do terribly well in Japanese cinema as compared to, let's say, The Burrowers or Eva 2.0. To be honest, I am not too impressed with Studio Deen's work, I wished people like Bones or Madhouse animate it. However the battle scenes improved tremendously from meh TV series. Saber vs Berserker battle is pretty well animated but much anticipated epic Gates of Babylon vs Unlimited Blade Works battle sequence is not as heroic as the visual novel. It is epic in movie but just not as satisfying as the visual novel version. It was rumored that Nasu's favourite ending is the True Ending for HF where Shirou did not make it. Their animation style seems to be more suitable to FSN's setting. When I look at Shana/Index/Railgun, I silently wished that the FSN TV looked that good. |

QUOTE(Stormy001_M1A2 @ Oct 13 2010, 02:55 PM) Ilya's heart is the core for the Grail to manifest itself hence Gilgamesh decision to rip it out of her chest. Shinji have low level magus ability thanks to his years of scouring the forbidden books of Matoh family and can be used as backup plan for summoning the Grail after Gilgamesh failed to acquire Rin for this purpose. So technically only Ilya can materialise the grail regardless of who wins the Holy War? Ilya was a homunculus designed specifically by Einzbern clan for the Grail to materialize in real world. Yeap, the fish scene did not make sense to me and the movie made one crucial mistake, Rin saw Shirou keep jumping the high jump when they both were very young, not high school as shown. And all this is explained where? Did the game make it explicitly clear about this or is this one of Nasu's extra notes thing? Definately not in the movie and the wikipedia. lol. As for the movie i don't know how they translated it over from the game but it did seem like it got everything from the game (based on watever i read online since i didn't actually played the game) complete with the plot holes and stuff that they expect you to know from the other arcs not in the UBW arc. |

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Oct 14 2010, 08:10 AM) JC Staff? No. They are the one who f***ed up Tsukihime. I never forgive the studio for that crime. PA Works who did work on Canaan is better choice compared to JC Staff.Added on October 14, 2010, 4:32 pm QUOTE(wolfx @ Oct 14 2010, 09:06 AM) So technically only Ilya can materialise the grail regardless of who wins the Holy War? Ilya is like an accelarator to kickstart the ascension of Grail when there is enough mana. For the Grail to have enough mana, Servants must die to provide the fuel for it to start. A Magus can start the Holy Grail normally too but it is not very stable and takes time. The Einzbern clan designed the homunculus to circumvent the instability and time for Grail summoning. And all this is explained where? Did the game make it explicitly clear about this or is this one of Nasu's extra notes thing? Definately not in the movie and the wikipedia. lol. In Saber's route, Kirei need Ilya totally as he did not have any mana to sustain the manifestation of Grail. Gilgamesh can afford some leeway though as he do have some mana to spare but he needs a more complaint body (any Magus body) with accelerator core (Ilya's heart) to stabilize the Grail. In Heaven's Feel, Evil Sakura have so much surplus mana that she did not need anything to initiate the ascension of Grail. However when Sakura starts to fight back the corrupt influence of Grail in final battle against Shirou, it starts to become unstable until Ilya steps in and becomes the vessel for it. That's how Shirou and co escaped in the end of Heaven's Feel. An unstable Grail can cause massive explosion as seen in Shirou's flashback. The Tsukihime manga is not bad. That OP video is probably some doujin or AMV scrapped from random anime scenes. You guys who see white boxes probably need to update your Flash plugins lol.
