Thats truly an honor for you…
To get Japanese citizenship you need to be able to speak Japanese, is that discrimination?

To get German citizenship you need to be able to speak German, is that discrimination?

I don’t think its discrimination, I think its a form of courtesy. Please understand that your inability to speak BM after multiple generations here can be seen as a form of disrespect as it would in ANY OTHER country in the world.

However, you think in Malaysia you should have the privilege of not doing so and the luxury of not being called out for it.

Please come back to reality 🙏
*
Come to reality is you. Everybody can speak BM doesnt mean it has to be FORCED on everything n everyone. Now many foreigners complain they’re told to speak BM. Thats not what we are supposed to be.

And we’re not Japan, not Germany. We need to retain our English proficiency for our benefits

No one says that. We ALL speaks BM. But we can smell BS far away.

Telling foreigners to speak BM is unacceptable. Telling Maian studying abroad to speak BM is intolerant. Multi-lingual IS our unique, special identity. We have since pulled away to extremism. Most nons did not polarised. They remain Msian as they are. Multi-lingual was and IS our strength. Ppl are always amaze we can speak many languages in the region. MNCs appreciate staff who speaks multiple languages in the region.

We are now moving away from that strength, this is not acceptable!

What are you talking about? This country has a rich 600 year of Malay history. The multi-language thing is a recent development that happened less than 100 years ago because of the British. It is a by product of colonialism, not something that the people here wanted or needed.

How come it is acceptable for Japan, Germany, China and etc to expect foreigners staying there to understand their language? Why is it UNACCEPTABLE here? Based on what logic? Shouldn't it be up to the natives to decide what is acceptable or not acceptable?

Nothing wrong with being multi-lingual, but at the same time nothing is wrong with the Malays wanting to preserve their language and heritage, especially among their own people and within their own country.

If you call yourself a Malaysian, the least you could do is live up to the “Malay” part of that. Learn the language please… its not hard, its the same alphabet as English. Would you prefer they bring back Jawi?

See the reply, first part. And we’re not Malay. We have always been Malaysian who can speak multiple languages. BM is one. Forcing ppl to only use BM is wrong

Sorry, but you delusions are beyond my capabilities.

Nothing is wrong with Malaysia requiring Malaysians to speak Malay.

I just did for my kid at UTC pudu. You need to download the qms app. Wake up at 5.59am. keep on use the app to book the ticket. When clock hit 6am when tickets are open, i was already no.10. After get ticket go back to sleep but make sure reach there by the time your ticket is about to be called. It will show in the app. Mine was all done by 9am despite the crowd

thank you.. this is a very helpful reply.

Your best bet will be any UTC outlets. They are open on Sundays, and in my opinion they are least crowded on Sunday morning/afternoon

I went to Banting. Reached there 8am, office just opened to hand out numbers.

The long queues were due to sudden surge in applications/renewals after the covid lockdown years. The backlogs should be cleared by now.

As said in a post above, don't on Mondays, certainly not immediately after public holidays. If possible, go next next week after school holidays.

we didn't know about the online queuing thing (QMS). we actually went there and was told no more number. it was a rather frustrating experience. before we went, we actually went online to check teh procedure. no mentioned on the QMS (at least no on the immigration website). when we informed the officer there, their answer was " semarang Saya Beritau you". really wtf moment.

Forgot to mention that the Banting office is a normal immi office. Closed on weekends.

Went there because port klang immi office was closed for renovations till Dec 31.
