what is the process for renewing passport in Malaysia? Just went there was told have to queue at 6 am for a number. they is a quota for the number.

where is the best place to apply? any branches that open on Sunday?

I walk in to Setia Tropika Johor office 3PM, came out 4:30PM done ... on Tuesday...that was 3 months ago

After so many years, they still hasn't clear the backlog?

Your best bet will be any UTC outlets. They are open on Sundays, and in my opinion they are least crowded on Sunday morning/afternoon

Yes, the officer tested my kid if he can speak BM, even though he did it more politically correct, macam a pakcik wanting to make small talk to a kid he just met. That was just days before the last hu ha of the mother staying in Sg complain the customs officer in JB.

Download the app, around 8am, click request number. I got around number 50+ and the app will show current number being called, my kid's number got called around 10.30am, but I forgot to bring birthcert and my IC (need photocopy), thought not needed since it was renewal not 1st time application. Went back home to get them and returned by 11.30am, got processed, made payment and got the passport by 12.30pm.

App is named : Queue Management System (QMS) by General Microsystem Sdn Bhd.

I just did for my kid at UTC pudu. You need to download the qms app. Wake up at 5.59am. keep on use the app to book the ticket. When clock hit 6am when tickets are open, i was already no.10. After get ticket go back to sleep but make sure reach there by the time your ticket is about to be called. It will show in the app. Mine was all done by 9am despite the crowd

If no speak BM no need renew. They will cancel your passport and IC.

There is no honor and pride if you’ve been living here for generations and still dont know how to speak the native language. Its more stupid and lazy really…

Go online try upload first, coz they don't accept walk in renewal except for senior citizens and kids below 18
