bought used v1 dominar 400  mid april and change tyre a week later. not sure how good is pilot street 2, but hey, its rm60 ( quoted rm560 - shop credit rm500) and do oil change + chain and spocket + service absorber ( shop did it, but leak again) at other workshop that familiar with modenas. Change side mirror to oem. haha

unlike car, not all workshop except other than kapchai.

just don't emergency brake on a motorcycle you're not familiar with, if needed, practise e-braking somewhere safe
always launch the bike with the steering straight, especially when trying to do a U-turn, idea is to initiate movement before a turn

I bled rear brakes last weekend, and changed out my muffler
raised my rear shock by 3mm

Patent good suspension is very important, next to brakes and tyres
the forks should be NIX30, standard cartridge type, not TTX

Ohlins is cheap for the amount of joy and safety it buys
I would Ohlins and Brembo my bikes any day

mADmAN the front brakes hose, are they routed in series, from one caliper to the other, or Y-split?

Its daisy chained....goes to clutch side first (the one with the most wear) then to the brake lever side

Plus i also recently rectified an issue with the brake master cylinder not pushing back out the entire way...so im assuming that would have also added to the wear
*
you know where I'm going with this

if it happens again, get a y-split hose system, such as those with 2 hoses coming out from the master cylinder
or, in your case, 2 hoses coming out from the ABS pump

Put on new shoes for the NK. Stock tyres lasted about 13k km to the wear bars.

Went with PR6 120/190 combo. 1 size up from the factory 180 because no stock of the 180 at that time and I was nursing a 3rd puncture (lol, 3 punctures.on the rear in 4 months) so didn't want to wait 2-3 days for stock.

Price 1250. 120/180 is under 1200. Tyre + mounting and balancing. They adjusted and relube my chain for free, cleaned out all the threads. So far happy with the service.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/9M1h9H1WUn2F42Fm9

Done 200km city riding so far. Bike sits slightly taller and the profile is much steeper than the stock 180 maxxis supermaxx. This is due to the PR6 profile and also I'm running 190 on a 5.5" wheel instead of the recommended 6" wheel for 190.

Suspect I will be running with permanent chicken strips due to the low foot peg clearance of the NK.

Carcase is a little stiffer and not much weight difference. Faster to warm up and grip is good even when cold. Not yet tried in the rain yet. Bike falls into a turn quicker due to the steeper profile but I might have to play with the tyre pressure to optimise the feel. The taller rear has made the front feel a little heavier. Will try to tune it out in time.

Honestly, if there is 1 nitpick, I don't like the thread patten of the PR6... Especially for the front. It's like a hot girl putting on granny underpants.

Will see how it goes. Will probably switch it back to 180 next tyre change in about a year.

the Road6 has very soft carcass, softer than S22, softer than Road5, and any Pirelli that was available to me at the time

compound is full silica, so better wet grip than Road5, and less suitable for hooliganism and hot hot weather, sorry by IMO you made a wrong tyre choice for your aspiring riding style bruce.gif , but the tyres will serve you well

Haha..I won't say I made the wrong choice. For the price and the mileage I need.... There isn't really much to choose from. Other choices like the Angle GT and Roadtec likely be the sportier choice. But the Angle GT doesn't last as long, and the Roadtec is expensive....likewise the equally pricey T32.

Supersports like the S22 will last me 2 months at most. Hahaha
*
that's really odd, on shopee, Angel GT is the cheapest, then Roadtec01. These are not sporty imo. I've used the Roadtec01 HWM and it bears the Metzeler flat donut signature. Road6 is bulging up, similar to Angel GT.

mileage wise, Roadtec01 gave me 13k (TWI), then Power GP gave me 10k (TWI), and then Racetec around 2k (bald)

after a morning ride, cleaned the rims and sapu some wax that's it

ordered a set of NGK laser plugs to replace a current set of Denso Iridiums that lasted 20k kms over the last 3.5 years - funny thing is my bike now mis-firing and on occasions it sounds like R1 cross-plane

fouling plug is bad for engine, can cause overheating of valves and unnecessary valve stem elongation, please change them when it's due

saw my voltmeter pushing up to 15.2v a couple of times... read online that a dead/ weak/ faulty battery can cause rectifier to push out more voltage to try n charge the battery causing it to overwork n burn out. n since my battery has died once and recharged and sort of dying again... got the battery changed. RM150....otw back noticed it didnt go above 14.7.

nice update

see if you can access the rectifier and read the code labelled on it, SH847 perhaps?

Why u wanna know?

the V1k manual says charging voltage is 14.4-15.0V

you said it shot up to 15.2V, so I'm wondering what R/R your bike has

another question, is where the voltmeter is hooked to?
mine is connected to headlamp, so it's lower than actual

changed spark plugs, from Denso (20k km) to NGK laser iridiums
took me an hour and a half... removed the tank, airbox, covered the intake manifolds and then accessing the coils and changing the plugs out

one of the plugs is causing problem, similarly to the Brisk that came before. The bike would have 1 or 2 misfires, then the engine would starts to sound like a V-twin, or maybe a crossplane 4... haha

Changed out my usb port from blue to green led.

May look like green is very glaring in the pic but in real life blue is much more glaring for my astig eyes. The green can see the numbers clearly n easily...dont need to squint n get closer to tell the numbers.

Also bcoz it's blue....i keep thinking my high beam is on 🤣

our eyes are better with green than blue or red, looking at blue and red together is most difficult

So after 7k KM mileage, I decided to clean the fork dust/wiper seal.
The owner manual on the KTM made it sound easy, but that wiper seal was a pain to remove, thankfully had plastic trim removal tool to mitigate any damage if I had to use a flat head.
They say push, I had to pry it.

Clean it and grease it like in the other thread recommendation.
*
I think there's light adhesive, you could use a nylon/polyester string, wrap around the seal/tube boundary, and tighten the loop to separate it without harm... first time is usually the most difficult. And if you're sensitive, you can feel the harshness reduce or at least the front end feels better. In my case, parking the bike for many weeks wouldn't cause the oil seal to dry up, and then leaving a film of fork oil on the shiny tube when I ride it again.

would try that method the next round.
you're right the front end feels better, to be precise, i feel less stiction.

yeah, stiction leads to harshness...

Replace my year old tires with RM95 combo set include shipping with valve & sealant solution, have to do it around petrol station though for easy access to tire inflator.

Acceptable quality no matter dry/wet consider the price and only time will tell how is the durability.

How is your Benelli Leoncino 250 performing so far?

Overall ownership experience?

Going on YouTube and Google there are not much resources about this Leoncino 250.

So have to ask actual owners for tips, tricks and DIY How To's.

a friend with the 502C sold it, saying many issues
didn't ask much

if you need it to be workhorse, I'd say better skip this one

so my bike (er6n) wont start yesterday, after changing new starter relay. lifespan only halfday or 3 time use then kaput.

-dump start, i dont know how to shift to 2nd gear, always N after the 1st gear. so tried on 1st, unable to start. (i may doing it wrong as the tyre lock after dump clutch + throttle abit)

-short B/M at starter relay, but engine still wont start. ended up replace to old stater relay, then can start.

does this mean shorting the terminal on the starter relay, is not 100% make your engine start? still depend on starter relay condition?
*
can describe what happen when you press the start button?
- is it like press, then relay click, but no respond (starter motor kong)
- press, but very fast clicking sound and dash dim (battery weak)
- press, starter will spin the motor, but engine won't start (other issue)

maybe need to service the internal of the starter motor, contact point and carbon brush there

most likely no1 . 2,all light remain constant, no dimming/or flickering. 3,didnt hear starter crank. but when i short the terminal around 5 sec + throttle bit (starter relay) it crank but wont start.

however i suspect stator/battery. Happen twice and after both happend after ride. (20-30min ride). Notice that voltage during idle or low rpm ride not exceeding 13v. Lowest was 11 idle at traffic light. will rectifier cause this or just stator?
*
how old is the battery?

in my experience, to my knowledge, weak battery will kill the rectifier, then kill the stator
but, the rectifier will not be full dead... so, after you change the stator and battery, it will work for 6 months to 1.5 years then keep burning the stator

in your case, probably check the stator, if burn, recoil and test and check
also, make sure engine oil level is near the high mark... because our bike uses EO to cool the stator
also, find the location of the rectifier, make sure after a ride it's not very hot like 80C hot, 60C hot is ok... not sure how to explain to you

whats your milage?

myself quite very low milage one year maybe just over 1k?.
I rode in to a yamaha sc after 6 months bout 500km in, i was asked to go home, said 1 year is fine.
owners manual suggest 10k (never did mention a duration)

but when i approached an outside workshop, he said big bikes 3 bulan must change... i pun abit surprized.
*
70k km, due for a VC also, per year about 5k I think

changing every 3 months will break the bank for sure, since it doubles up my maintenance frequency, and this bike is quite high maintenance already - oils, brakes, suspension and tires, so I'll stick to 6 months

I'm not sure, but our fuel quality might be subpar also

Just clocked 2K KM after my previous oil change, it's definitely louder now for cold starts and at lower speed it's a bit rougher but not enough to affect riding experience. Starting to enjoy the sound of my 400, there's a nice whistling sound from 15~40, and when I was riding it up my brother's condo he remarked that it sounded like an engine of an electric motor which I have always thought so.
