Tealive is in an awkward spot tbh.

Cheaper segment you got bing/mi xue where you drink for fun and it’s relatively cheap. If you wanna ask me… the taste is already similar to tealive. Unless there’s some gooding options from tealive I’d rather take bing/mixue. I actually don’t like tealive because it has aftertaste and the sugar syrup is rly bleuck.

Expensive segment you got beutea/chagee where the premium tea taste is very gooding. IMO if you’re gonna spend >rm10 just take beutea/chagee. The taste quality is miles ahead than any other milk tea store. That day I had an oolong tea latte from tealive plus I think it was Rm11. Anyway it tasted diluted, tea taste missing, and it’s such a disappointment. I’d rather throw money to rm11.9 beutea jasmine green milk tea. Even RM5 milk tea from bingxue would taste better.

Beutea /chagee> bing/mixue > tealive

this is very true lol, they expanded too quickly here, now they are selling their franchise cheaply so any donkey also can open 1 mixue store now, and become very chaotic now because they cant control all the franchisees because too many of them lol, havent sort out the operations SOP, logistics etc but open so many stores all over malaysia

regarding worker issue, this is also a very serious issue they are facing, as they are selling their products cheaply, hence they are going after volume sales, so a flood of orders throughout the day will be expected, but most stores only hire 2 or 3 staffs to man the whole store and also only paying minimum wage, nobody will want to work with minimum wage and handling thousands of orders a day lol, either the store hire more staffs or increase the salary to match the workload the worker is facing everyday, or else ppl will just rather work elsewhere that is not as hectic
i have even seen one of the franchisee himself go work in his own store manning the counter because one of the staff suddenly quit and the other apply MC, and he is complaining he cant find worker and how long more he have to man the counter himself

Hmmm..i think its more to worker mc or suddenly quit kot. Because mixue requirement is min 4 workers.

2 scenario i encounter before for mixue

1. mixue berjaya times square....they got 8 staffs, 4 front 4 back...understandable since bukit bintang, high traffic
but there was once...almost their whole menu is unavailable due to no stock
so 8 staff just go to work to do nothing or just answer customer "don't have"

2. mixue SS2, 3 staff here...i would consider this a low traffic mixue eventhough it's inside SS2
went at 8PM...should be peak hour...not much people
thn when i sit there to drink, i saw the boss come in with his GF and went to the back to don't know do what
thn come back out, grab a lemonade and leave

only a person who worked for such shop understands the pain of big order

lol, i went to the one in starling mall, half of their items OOS lol, the staff just sit down thr do nothing also

and i seen their customer crowd getting lesser and lesser, it used to be alot of ppl
