Same. Not yet. Tempted to change to another ISP since TM is charging the same for less bandwidth…
*
Which other isp can gives u more bandwidth but cheaper price other than unifi? If talking about those ISPs riding on unifi’s infra.

I did mine last year. Opened late Dec, funds for Jan, RM388 credited mid-march. 76 days from date of account opening.
iirc TnC stated within 90 days of account opening.

My cousin & wife and my friends got theirs after 80-85 days. They opened late Mar and put for April.

My daughter just got hers today. Opened early April, put for May. 94 days.

My mum too I think but I haven't checked yet.

Time for me to go collect commission. biggrin.gif

FTTR has pros and cons . some of  China's chinese are not happy with FTTR installation. you can find a lot of info from YT.
*
why not happy? i guess it should have more pros than cons gua? tongue.gif

i also wish i can have it but i am renting house so cannot do it...

only immediate cons i can think of are 1) cost 2) complex installation

but since it is free... i dun see a prob to these... tongue.gif

Not necessary.
Nowadays operating systems are smart enough to generate a temporary ipv6 address and it will rotate after certain period.

You can visit some ipv6 test website, it will shows your temporary ipv6 address instead of the stable ipv6 address.
*
indeed. did a test. outside can only see my temporary ip...

telcos in lion city makes the 10Gbps plan to consumer. tongue.gif

lion city, their 10Gbps is as low as only sgd29.90 per month, if considered the installation fee in also only average at ~S$34.53/month.

contract only 12 months... wtf... tongue.gif

it is stated that this is part of their local ISPs' collective effort to offer 10Gbps connectivity to half a million homes by 2028.

after switched to time fibre, long time never pay attention to the price of unifi, seems like now unifi is also very affordable for 300Mbps/500Mbps now too... not bad...

PRIVATE IP
30 Mbps
50 Mbps
100 Mbps
300 Mbps

PUBLIC IP
500 Mbps
800 Mbps
1 Gbps
2 Gbps

Since October 2023
*
so it is strictly no public ip for 300Mbps and below or one can still request for that?

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ Nov 8 2024, 07:08 PM)
Since they "finally" updated their database to reflect the correct package.
I had to email them to get public IP back.
*
what plan are u using? so 300Mbps and below can still request for public ip?

Can request but it depend on the Unifi Expert Team who will site visit your premise to check whether it is eligible or not.
*
serious?! need a site visit only they considered whether to give the public ip? tongue.gif

Currently using Fiberhome SR1041F AX3000 router. Plan was 800Mbps.  Desktop using AXE5400 Tp-link PCIE Wifi card ( Wifi 6e )

Single storey house. Router roughly at the center of the house. My pc is in my room and the router is at dining hall TV table. My room and dining hall is just side by side. Signal strength around 77% .
Is the D-link DIR-X3000Z ( non unifi ) better and more stable wifi signal strength or just the same?
*
for landed given the length of the house, unlikely u can really very good even with the high end, if you can wire ur different parts of your house with wired connection and do with wireless mesh (even cheap one) u can get good experience...

My house is 20x80. My wifi adapter is one with extendable antenna and i place it pretty high up and away from anything metallic or solid object. Sometimes, it can get to 80% but then drops to around 75 to 70% (estimates) but never below 65%.
*
but sometimes it is not just the strength that decides the quality of the wifi, you may be getting 65 to 80% of the signal strength, but if it flustrates, the stability and the actual experience (including latency) may not be that good..

Stability as in disconnections, and bufferings?
*
latency will be the greatest prob u will encounter, particularly if u play mobile online games, u can significantly experience what i mean. it may not happen all the time, but intermittent and for mobile game, it will greatly impact the winnings.

if u are just doing web surfing etc.. probably u may not really feel it...

Hello to all sifus and Unifi users, just want to ask.

I've renewed my Unifi contract, in the service acceptance form talked about FUP for Unifi home. What does it mean? Since Unifi fiber have no quota, does this mean they will slow down speed when congested?

Didn’t you know? It has been like this for so long…
I am using 300mbps but with a pathetic 50mbps upload.
*
I know this. And it is like this long time ago and even in 2024 too that’s why it is insane. 🤪

Although I do agree that to normal users, upload speed is not something something crucial to them.

Just compare to the norms, with this kind of speed at this age is insane.

Good sharing for current SWU offer. Imo if you do not need the speed of 1gbps, the Rm119 plan is more than enough.
Maxis is as reliable as Unifi, can still steadily load websites and do streaming when others are screaming hell about Unifi poor connection at night. The speed cap is done by TM side. for example I subscribed 100mbps can only get around 94-95mbps, whereas same infra on Unifi get 105mbps. Hence sales person always use this point to counter people switching out from Unifi to make ppl feel bad about their competitors.
*
paying same price or cheaper with unifi but again getting higher speed (no matter what reason) surely it will make ppl go for unifi instead. not to mention that if there is any issue with the service, only involve one part which is unifi to fix that's it...

seriously no competitive advantage for maxis at this stage. probably maxis customers on postpaid if there is additional benefits that make real competitive advantage then it is worth it....
