QUOTE(Jjuggler @ Mar 20 2024, 02:21 PM) NAS... sweet old buddy. My Asustor NAS went kaput after lightning. Thinking of investing into Synology NAS. Then do the do doing. dont do like this waste money. buy n100 with enclosure then install plain linux and install only services that you actually going to use. cheaper, faster and more energy effieicent.

QUOTE(PJng @ Apr 29 2024, 12:58 PM) thanks. So I tried the easyfix thing. surprisingly it is actually not useless for once. said got planned maintenance on my area. but it was never mentioned in anywhere else like in status page or sms noti And that was a weird downtime handling procedure too. instead of making my account dial into internal network that directs me into captive portal with vague info, they should just refuse the ppooe connection altogether. At least I know there is something wrong at infra level, not whatever thing going wrong with my account. This post has been edited by failed.hashcheck: Apr 29 2024, 01:22 PM

Do tm lock your account to specific router?
My Asus router going kaput, so I swap to my backup TM provided Fiberhome (SR1041F) router. All settings checked. But my pppoe keep dialing into this internal ip 172.20.*.* that have no internet connection.
Today the technician come, they also can't explain what happen. so they request pppoe reset. Now my internet worked on this fiberhome router.
When the technician leave, I tried to swap the router to slightly decent TPlink router from Celcom. The problem returns. pppoe dialed into 172.20.*.* ip again. Tried spoof the MAC from original previous Fiberhome router, also no go. Now I suspicious already. So I swap yet again to yet another TM fiberhome router (SR1041Y), also same problem.
I give up, swap back to the original Fiberhome SR1041F, it worked?!?!!
Do I need to call TM to reset my account every time I change ruter or what?

QUOTE(aniq8676 @ May 1 2024, 08:23 PM) Just ask them to reset the network. I don't mind asking, but just.. it's weird af. Is this a new policy? Never had to go through this before nor it ever happened with other providers.

QUOTE(karenzayn @ May 2 2024, 12:26 PM) Not really, I swapped one of my workplace warehouse from AZ-Tech to Fiberhome like yours (from one of our closed store and just lying around) and slap the PPPOE from the AZ-Tech and works fine... Weird. So there is indeed something wrong with whatever that handles pppoe in my area. I'll try asking my neighbors if they could reproduce the problem. QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ May 2 2024, 12:34 PM) was the correct VLAN selected? Yeah. I even reset the fiberhome one to stock tm config, also still same problem.

If i got tons of money i will files class action lawsuit agains this jibai tmnut make it viral kao kao Then maybe just maybe something will finally improve you have option to use other hsbb isp with noticeably better network performance and reliability plus miles better customer service. problem with majority of unifi users is they ate the FUD and ended never tried other isp to see what they are missing.

QUOTE(Jjuggler @ May 25 2024, 01:31 AM) Whichever companies that comes with lowest bidding price lorh. That company must have a fake portfolios. I mean, most software development companies display fake portfolios. So, these days, to get a good software development company that do the work for you is really hard to find. I prefer to go for the really good one with high price than low and cheap quality. But wei it got wiggling smile logo on launch that they spent 300 hours getting the animation right!

QUOTE(Doraku @ Jun 25 2024, 01:11 AM) Even by APNIC standard /56 prefix size is bare minimum and should be avoided, IIRC a APNIC blog post I once read before, recommend just assigning to everyone a persistent /48 prefix and just requesting a new /32 block once you ran out But TM decided to just request a single /32 block and assign everyone /64 prefix provisioned by a stateless DHCPv6-PD The ridiculous thing is /32 block is large enough to assign every single Unifi customer with /56 prefix;16 Million /56 Instead of this wacky dynamic /64 prefix  They probably wanted to limit the use for residential IP, making it less appealing for doing hosting business and such, when they have more expensive business package to sell.

QUOTE(TubeNRibbon @ Jul 8 2024, 03:25 PM) Something is wrong with TM. The internet suddenly drop below 300Mbps from 1G package. The technician changed the modem from white ONR to black ONR. I requested them to try a new router unfortunately still not solve my problem. Guys, check your speedtest occasionally my speedtest shows nothing wrong. but real use crapped out significantly. been experiencing horrible buffering with Netflix past few weeks. surely its not issue with oversea routing.

QUOTE(PJng @ Jul 16 2024, 04:19 PM) I use tp link, no such log, pc got intall such program, but is log per pc, not sum with wifi usage Dunno why tm record only 17GB for my acc probably it was in middle of system migration on that time. Between April and June they did some, I would call, enshittification job with app and customer portal. During that period lots and things gone wack, some accounts stopped updating and even pppoe auth in some accounts stopped working right. QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jul 18 2024, 06:09 PM) Actually, there's an OLT level cap and it's known as DBA. The DBA profile can be misconfigured at some OLT. Huawei OLT is really strict on DBA profile. It wouldn't let you to allocate more bandwidth than the available bandwidth. I will give you an example how it can be misconfigured. Huawei OLT will round down the DBA bandwidth into a multiple of 64. If the DBA profile is set to 1000, it will round down to 960Mbps (64*15). However, I agree that it's wasting time cause only very senior engineer can understand this and it really can't be fixed easily. I have the exact same issue on Maxis-TM infra. If im using ZTE ONU, thats a good indicator that im on ZTE OLT as well right? Or these thing could work with whatever pairing?
