buy n100 with enclosure then install plain linux and install only services that you actually going to use. cheaper, faster and more energy effieicent.

Is it just me or Netflix on unifi becoming a bit shyte lately?

Now my unifi cant connect. got this walledgarden thing and pppoe dialled to some internal IP.
my bill is clear and account is active.

said got planned maintenance on my area.
but it was never mentioned in anywhere else like in status page or sms noti


And that was a weird downtime handling procedure too.
instead of making my account dial into internal network that directs me into captive portal with vague info, they should just refuse the ppooe connection altogether. At least I know there is something wrong at infra level, not whatever thing going wrong with my account.

Do tm lock your account to specific router?

My Asus router going kaput, so I swap to my backup TM provided Fiberhome (SR1041F) router.
All settings checked. But my pppoe keep dialing into this internal ip 172.20.*.* that have no internet connection.

Today the technician come, they also can't explain what happen. so they request pppoe reset. Now my internet worked on this fiberhome router.

When the technician leave, I tried to swap the router to slightly decent TPlink router from Celcom. The problem returns. pppoe dialed into 172.20.*.* ip again. Tried spoof the MAC from original previous Fiberhome router, also no go.
Now I suspicious already. So I swap yet again to yet another TM fiberhome router (SR1041Y), also same problem.

I give up, swap back to the original Fiberhome SR1041F, it worked?!?!!


Do I need to call TM to reset my account every time I change ruter or what?

I don't mind asking, but just.. it's weird af.
Is this a new policy?
Never had to go through this before nor it ever happened with other providers.

And now im being charged RM53 for technician visit that come just to tell me that the downtime was totally their server side issues? Summore after their phone support didn't pick up at all the whole day??

Weird. So there is indeed something wrong with whatever that handles pppoe in my area. I'll try asking my neighbors if they could reproduce the problem.

Yeah. I even reset the fiberhome one to stock tm config, also still same problem.

you have option to use other hsbb isp with noticeably better network performance and reliability plus miles better customer service.

problem with majority of unifi users is they ate the FUD and ended never tried other isp to see what they are missing.

Why my May bill still not out? usually my bill cycle is on 19th.

In my dashboard its still showing Apr bill still unpaid although it was already cleared last month.

But wei it got wiggling smile logo on launch that they spent 300 hours getting the animation right!

They probably wanted to limit the use for residential IP, making it less appealing for doing hosting business and such, when they have more expensive business package to sell.

my speedtest shows nothing wrong. but real use crapped out significantly.
been experiencing horrible buffering with Netflix past few weeks. surely its not issue with oversea routing.

probably it was in middle of system migration on that time.
Between April and June they did some, I would call, enshittification job with app and customer portal. During that period lots and things gone wack, some accounts stopped updating and even pppoe auth in some accounts stopped working right.
