QUOTE(MyProLife @ Nov 12 2023, 02:43 PM) Get it now? Get from fast*** lim or Xiaome kluang The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro slot in somewhere below Xiaomi 13 Ultra in terms of camera prowess. And Xiaomi 14 Pro pricing in Malaysia would probably be difficult to priced properly since the device would be in spitting distance of Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in Malaysia, one of the best smartphone cameras in the industry.Wait global? It said to come by Q1 2024 (around Feb at earliest) But Xiaomi 14 would probably sell better if they keep the same RM3499 base price of Xiaomi 13 and upgraded the base storage to 512GB. At least, these both come with USB 3.2 now haha If go by price point, the current Android market as of Nov 2023 for brand new Malaysia Set is Under RM1000 - Poco F5 (RM850~RM900) Under RM1500 - Xiaomi 13T 256GB (RM1450~RM1600) Under RM2300 - Honor Magic 5 256GB (RM2095) / Xiaomi 13T Pro 512GB (RM2200) Under RM3000 - Honor Magic 5 Pro 512GB (RM2898) / OnePlus 11 (RM2950) Under RM3800 - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB (RM3,799) Under RM4300 - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 512GB (RM4,299) I really can't foresee how the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro could compete in current market considering the Android smartphones of 2023 is damn good. QUOTE(tvcat @ Nov 12 2023, 09:59 PM) 2023 has been a great year for Android phones, so good for consumers in Malaysia at any price point. And currently I don't expect 2024 Android devices to be as value-worth as the 2023 devices. The Xiaomi 14 Pro is a bit worse than Xiaomi 13 Pro in some areas (like the sensor is no longer the 1-inch IMX989 of Xiaomi 13 Ultra), and the upcoming S24 Ultra is rumoured to downgrade to 5x optical from S23 Ultra's 10x optical zoom. In that sense, next year Android flagships are downgrading back its camera setups (or they call it experimenting with cameras) to trade it for the "better performance" marketing of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300. This was Xiaomi 13/13 Pro promotion last year.
Will they give TV again? Haha. Else selling RM4599 for Xiaomi 14 Pro will be dead on arrival. ![]() |

If the price is not sexy for xiaomi 14 probably get from china which tested 5G just Android Auto missing.
Reminder the xiaomi 14 launched last October, and it is a 4 months old model by the time it launch locally. Check with fastech few days back, the china set price increase nearly 5% due to weak of MYR conversion. So probably it wont come cheap |

QUOTE(Matchy @ Feb 24 2024, 07:37 PM) Local pricing not yet out, but number of storage variants and colour variants of Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra now on their Shopee store. But my guess for pricing is Xiaomi 14 12GB+256GB RM3499 16GB+512GB RM4499 Xiaomi 14 Ultra 16GB+512GB RM5499 And then the price is used to upsell with freebies etc like all their previous launches. I expect Xiaomi 14 series ales to slow down this year since the Xiaomi 13T series will be eating much of its market share. This post has been edited by ASoulNamedLeo: Feb 24 2024, 08:15 PM |

Idk, maybe need tweaking permissions and battery auto start/optimization for some apps Miui 14 got lesser bloatware or at least most of them uninstallable. Except for few Xiaomi first party apps that can be handled by ADB utility HyperOS will be largely similar to miui 14 for above Also ram management is slightly better on HyperOS as well Camera might be because overheating or just Xiaomi thing. Hope improvement to VC cooling can solve |

QUOTE(MyProLife @ Feb 26 2024, 10:18 AM) First few problems is up to Google side. I believe Google already solved most of them as I never face such issues anymore at least for last few months (make sure Google play system is updated as well and reboot phone when needed) Haih maybe just bad luck for me I pick the mi 11 ultra as I love the cameraDelay notification even on global rom? Idk, maybe need tweaking permissions and battery auto start/optimization for some apps Miui 14 got lesser bloatware or at least most of them uninstallable. Except for few Xiaomi first party apps that can be handled by ADB utility HyperOS will be largely similar to miui 14 for above Also ram management is slightly better on HyperOS as well Camera might be because overheating or just Xiaomi thing. Hope improvement to VC cooling can solve Unfortunately too many issue partly due to the 888 soc and Xiaomi use a very thin board design for the 11 series hence many fried wifi and mobo issue. Hope they keep improve Incase Samseng s24u fail me I might consider Xiaomi 14 ultra if they dun use Samseng panel on their 14 ultra Do you know what panel they use on the 14 ultra? 14 Ultra RM5199, preorder gifts are the camera grip and wireless charging stand.
Not a good deal compared to last year's Xiaomi 13 launch. |

QUOTE(squareballs @ Mar 7 2024, 12:33 PM) ultra preorder kit is actually kinda reasonable as the kit is xiaomi real photography kit with grip and casing/ring/strap, and the 80w charging is also new and tailer made for that modelplus other usual google one and extra warranty/screen replacement 14 is watch s3 and other usual google one and extra warranty/screen replacement still kinda within expectation |

Is Xiaomi strategy to slowly move on to high end.
Price cautious people will go for Poco, mi will really only aim for the best hardware they can delivery. |

Hardware wise is faster over clocked version 8 gen 3, software wis3 better video & photo post processing, better update speed with ease of use Samsung pay. It's basically an easy choice unless if you very like xiaomi or very hate Sammy. Don't Troll me! liked this post

Advise against getting China set, there will be issues of software support due serial number detection and incompatible 5G bands causes network issues in Malaysia. But if you're looking for a secondary niche camera phone, then Xiaomi 14 China set could be a good buy.Personally would recommend skipping Xiaomi 14. And even getting last year's used Xiaomi 13 or brand new Xiaomi 13T as a tester for the Xiaomi brand and HyperOS is probably more worth it than Xiaomi 14 this year... (sorry Xiaomi your pricing and freebies this year is kinda whack until a user since Redmi Note 4 days can't believe your pricing) Edit: To add, the Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro, 13 Ultra, 13T and 13T Pro have all received the HyperOS update in Malaysia This post has been edited by ASoulNamedLeo: Mar 8 2024, 10:18 PM |

It is not ROM issue but hardware compatible. It's advice to get the global version if you want to use 5G unless you very sure that 5g bandwidth hardware stable to use here.

The phone felt significantly heavier than Xiaomi 13 as well. The Xiaomi 14 engineering and economics felt weird? Same criticism applies to Xiaomi 14 Ultra as well. As much as I appreciate the fast charging and charger still in box. The ergonomics of Xiaomi 14 is somehow worse than Xiaomi 13 (and even Xiaomi 13T) and can't compare to Galaxy S24 and iPhone 15 this year. |

QUOTE(squareballs @ Mar 12 2024, 08:32 AM) Yeah the regular 14 feels weird when holding. The ultra is better. Before you pull trigger on S24, do note that this year, S24 in Malaysia is using back Exynos flagship chips, which is much worse than its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered Samsung Galaxy S24 in other markets like the US. Worse in performance, worse in battery life and worse in thermals. Was considering the 14, S24 and iPhone 15 pro. Looks like I’m shifting more towards the s24 S24 512gb is around 37xx on education store.. So in Malaysia, if you're getting a compact smartphone from 2024 for long term use, between Xiaomi 14, Galaxy S24, and iPhone 15 Pro, the best but most expensive is iPhone 15 Pro, second best is Xiaomi 14 and third is Galaxy S24. But if you're willing to buy older compact flagship, the Xiaomi 13 and Samsung Galaxy S23 are better phones to buy in 2024, with S23 being especially better than S24 due to the more stable and power efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 onboard. QUOTE(skylinelover @ Mar 12 2024, 10:25 AM) Then no education discount for imported S24 though, this year S24 series in Malaysia the only snapdragon version is S24 Ultra, so basically Samsung is pushing everyone towards the Ultra in Exynos markets.QUOTE(skylinelover @ Mar 12 2024, 10:25 AM) Exynos 990 made Samsung look bad against Snapdragon 865. But the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in 2022 made an entire generation of Android flagships look bad against iPhone. Phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that gained bad reputation:1) OnePlus 10 Pro 2) Oppo Find X5 Pro 3) Vivo X80 Pro 4) Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro 5) Samsung Galaxy S22 series 6) Honor Magic4 series So bad that all Android manufacturers had to put out properly great flagships in 2023 to save their brand image. Personally Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is my pick for worst mobile processor ever because besides the processor problem of overheating and extremely poor battery life, the 6 phones listed above are otherwise great flagships in terms of camera, display and hardware This post has been edited by ASoulNamedLeo: Mar 12 2024, 10:41 AM Alert_RaZO liked this post

QUOTE(ASoulNamedLeo @ Mar 12 2024, 10:37 AM) Then no education discount for imported S24 though, this year S24 series in Malaysia the only snapdragon version is S24 Ultra, so basically Samsung is pushing everyone towards the Ultra in Exynos markets. expect when in xiaomi case its snap 888 that ruined them earlier rather than 8 gen1Exynos 990 made Samsung look bad against Snapdragon 865. But the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in 2022 made an entire generation of Android flagships look bad against iPhone. Phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that gained bad reputation: 1) OnePlus 10 Pro 2) Oppo Find X5 Pro 3) Vivo X80 Pro 4) Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro 5) Samsung Galaxy S22 series 6) Honor Magic4 series So bad that all Android manufacturers had to put out properly great flagships in 2023 to save their brand image. Personally Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is my pick for worst mobile processor ever because besides the processor problem of overheating and extremely poor battery life, the 6 phones listed above are otherwise great flagships in terms of camera, display and hardware |

QUOTE(squareballs @ Mar 9 2024, 08:58 PM) I tried the demo unit , when switching lenses in camera, quite jerking and not smooth.. Yes.. not sure because the store just setup the display unit or its just buggy. Was considering 14 this year because of the price and specs seems "flagship" level.Anyone experiencing the same? |

QUOTE(moto-moto @ Mar 21 2024, 11:32 PM) I see. Thanks Yup, most of the times, they kept their policy of an update every 90 days or less. Though occasionally you have a possibility of the update being delayed around 3-7 days in specific regions due to compatibility fixes last minute. (ie Latin America may receive update first before Asia devices or Europe devices)Track record wise, does it really 90 days per security update? Or it is less than 90 days? |

Yup i contacted them already. But they pending to checked on working day monday.
I gotten the photography kit and the phone. And manage to register Google One promo online. I am missing the 80w wireless charger and 1+1 warranty information. So wanted to confirm did I misunderstood the free gift promotion or not. |

Funny when i use device info and check the 14 ultra it state that it has 5300 battery capacity. I thought only the china set has 5300 while the global set has 5000.

Yeah wondering its the dealer want to cheat otherwise or not. Unsure whether the seller wanna untung sendiri or what. But finally gotten a reply today. They saying they haven't gotten the stock yet so will send to me once stock arrived. Hopefully it's just a misunderstanding. I will update here later. Back to topic. The camera is pretty impressive thus far. I like the accurate colors more than Samsung S23 Ultra. |

But you will only get the photography kit and not the wireless charger. |

Got this phone on Monday together with photography kit & 80w wireless charging stand. Yesterday just set it up as my daily driver, before this I'm using Vivo X100 Pro. Like the free casing comes with the box as well as the photography kit although it might sit inside my drawer to gain dust. Few things to summarize compared Mi Xiaomi 14 Ultra (M14U) to Vivo X100 Pro (VX100P) :- 1. Ergonomically on hand feeling VX100P is better than M14U, the camera bump of M14U just too big & phone is shorter, VX100P still have more spaces to grab on hand firmly compared to M14U. 2. M14U booting is faster than VX100P. 3. The smallest width of both phones needed to be tweaked in order to serve my eyes. Having hard time to find the perfect match while I dun have this issue in Samsung OneUI or even iOS. Weird also my POCO F5 control center can switch back to old control center but M14U no option to do so. 4. Fingerprint scanner M14U position at the right place but VX100P fingerprint is faster & better in terms of regconization even when your finger is wet. 5. Battery life, VX100P is better in battery consumption at least 20-30% more saving. Charging speed both almost the same but my car can charge M14U wirelessly at 30W but VX100P only 15W. 6. Internet speed connectivity. If using Wi-Fi M14U is slighly better than VX100P but mobile data VX100P is covered with 5G at most of the places I went, UMobile. 7. Photography wise, depends on your taste, I like VX100P photos better than M14U although most of them are touched up by AI. If you want a phone with nice photos output most of the times without manual works, you won't go wrong with VX100P. 8. HyperOS is better than FunTouch. If global version of VX100P is OriginOS I think this may make the different. This M14U is definetly for pro shooter to have a phone with great camera capabilities, manual tuning & play around & I think VX100P is better with shoot & post kind of camera phone. ryder_78 liked this post

The quality of camera is one of the important criteria in the selection of a phone to me and it's useful you have compared the cameras in both phones. Since I don't play around with the camera settings or do any post processing with the photos and often shoot in automatic with out-of-camera JPEGS being the top priority, it appears that the Vivo X100 Pro is better than Xiaomi 14 Ultra. |

Does the 14U camera still automatically increase brightness when it detects a face? Curious to know as this was a feature which could not be turned off in the 13U. I quote my my previous camera focused review on the 13U. Do you have any comments on issues below? QUOTE(-kytz- @ Jul 14 2023, 05:36 PM) Can confirm the 2 annoying things is present especially increasing brightness when faces are detected. Can somewhat circumvent it by holding the screen and push brightness slider down or using pro mode and using -0.7EV. Xiaomi should really put the auto brightening function as an option instead of forcing it on users. This post has been edited by -kytz-: Mar 27 2024, 01:16 PMThe phone also sometimes cannot remember the last settings even if this option is turned on And would always recommend to shoot underexposed than overexposed, pictures look better when you increase brightness and lift shadows than to reduce brightness and recover highlights. The game honkai star rail will be killed in the background after a while of not using it but if you need to use the app frequently, can just pin it as a small pop up window... (Disclaimer: phone is on balanced battery mode and not performance) Video field of view on the main lens is still cropped, I think roughly 30-35mm or so instead of the native 23mm focal length. Zooming in and out using all the lenses in 4k is possible but only at 30fps. If you use 60fps, only zooming in is allowed but it will be digital and you cannot utilise the 2 telephoto lenses. 90w boosted charging is super fast but phone gets quite warm. Suggest to get a fan to blow on it while charging. And I don't see any advertisements anywhere at all. Any future buyers, suggest to get DirectD's one time front glass replacement for RM169 only which is for 1 year. |

For the settings preserved, limited. Example, EV, front or back camera, camera mode. Those more specific settings like aperture, zoom level & etc cannot. |

FINALLY a reviewer said it, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is designed too "heavy" and "unbalanced", S24 Ultra has better weight balance in your hands as an ultra phone. The standard Xiaomi 14 also has the same weight balance problem with your hands. Like we get these are camera flagships, but at least make them better ergonomics. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra looks to be like Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra in terms of mixed feelings about the ergonomics it was designed for. Hopefully that means the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be legendary like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 😋 |

The heat is horrible for any phones that I used before, Samsung S23U, Vivo X100P, iPhone 13PM & etc.Basically, it won't burn your hand but you can feel the heat non-stop like warm bag. Dun get me wrong, I love this phone very much but this issue really bugging me. Once the heat is generated & the phone is sluggish & frame drops. Moreover, this phone is picky on 3rd party charger & not even charge up probably with laptop. Anyway, anyone got use Google Extend Lock on this device? It seems not working properly even I have setup it correctly for bluetooth & location triggers. This post has been edited by mhhee: Mar 29 2024, 09:36 AM |

Could it be due to the setting? Display resolution set to Max. I think it is better to use back Xiaomi charger to be safe.

For all the phones I used before, display resolution & refresh rate were set to max & no issue. Although, Vivo X100 pro sometimes has this issue when brightness is max but this M14U just way more worst, even my current Poco F5 no such issue or the last Xiaomi 11 Ultra I used.Don't get me wrong, the original power adaptor really does it job well at 90W max & fast in charging but the heat issue is really something. jhleo1 liked this post

Minus the lousy FunTouch OS, VX100P always a better choice in terms of price performance ratio. For me i rather take 14 U HyperOS bro. However, HyperOS for me is inconvenient of missing control center switching plus Google Extend Lock. |

Android don't work the same way like windows. If you don't do anything to the apps it will fill up all it's memory. When things aren't sufficient that's where they start releasing memory. Don't worry about it let it do it's job. In a long run your phone will be more efficient.![]() |

QUOTE(mhhee @ Apr 23 2024, 09:42 AM) If you have a CN version with preloaded Xiaomi AI then you will found it's even better than above. You mean global version can install xiaomi AI and it will help to get more photo AI features? For those who knows Chinese, you can install Xiaomi AI (小爱) & play aorund with it. Can help you generate articles, do automation tasks & even generate AI photos. |

QUOTE(moto-moto @ Apr 23 2024, 05:59 PM) Yes. It does. Just interface working in Chinese language, what I meant is generate an AI photo from your phone directly, not AI photo editing.Anyway, beta testing for Global version is coming. So just wait if you don't mind. |

hello, anyone knows how to make the miui camera palm shutter setting "stick"? I noticed that on all xiaomi phones/tablets with miui camera, you have to enable the palm shutter (for front camera) everytime you restart the camera app. it's not like other brands of phones (ie Samsung, oneplus) where you just enable it one time and works everytime you launch the camera app.

QUOTE(ultra_nyamuk @ Jun 7 2024, 10:44 AM) is it bad ? How much SOT are you getting ? really considering to get this phone.. more of a photo enthusiast, so wouldn't mind a good camera phone. 3-4 hours max probably with camera fully on and screen on 80% brightness. definitely need to bring power bank around if it's your main camera while travelling. |

Hi, I'm thinking about buying the Xiaomi 14 (China set) because it's cheaper than the global version. For those who have the China set, could you please share if there are any issues using Google-related apps like GPay or doing online banking transactions?

I found from Reddit that there is an app called activity launcher and it can activate the automated task( one ui routines equivalent)
Anyone here tried this? https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/1b...sroutinesmodes/ This post has been edited by moto-moto: Jul 22 2024, 09:00 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |
