Yup i contacted them already. But they pending to checked on working day monday.
I gotten the photography kit and the phone. And manage to register Google One promo online.
I am missing the 80w wireless charger and 1+1 warranty information.
So wanted to confirm did I misunderstood the free gift promotion or not.
*
Missing 80w wireless charger? Shouldn't it should be compulsory gifts given by Xiaomi? I also preordered that day & the seller told me no photography kit given because Xiaomi didn't give, on the spot I said I wanna cancel my order then finally give me.

Unsure whether the seller wanna untung sendiri or what.

Got this phone on Monday together with photography kit & 80w wireless charging stand.

Yesterday just set it up as my daily driver, before this I'm using Vivo X100 Pro.

Like the free casing comes with the box as well as the photography kit although it might sit inside my drawer to gain dust.

Few things to summarize compared Mi Xiaomi 14 Ultra (M14U) to Vivo X100 Pro (VX100P) :-

1. Ergonomically on hand feeling VX100P is better than M14U, the camera bump of M14U just too big & phone is shorter, VX100P still have more spaces to grab on hand firmly compared to M14U.

2. M14U booting is faster than VX100P.

3. The smallest width of both phones needed to be tweaked in order to serve my eyes. Having hard time to find the perfect match while I dun have this issue in Samsung OneUI or even iOS. Weird also my POCO F5 control center can switch back to old control center but M14U no option to do so.

4. Fingerprint scanner M14U position at the right place but VX100P fingerprint is faster & better in terms of regconization even when your finger is wet.

5. Battery life, VX100P is better in battery consumption at least 20-30% more saving. Charging speed both almost the same but my car can charge M14U wirelessly at 30W but VX100P only 15W.

6. Internet speed connectivity. If using Wi-Fi M14U is slighly better than VX100P but mobile data VX100P is covered with 5G at most of the places I went, UMobile.

7. Photography wise, depends on your taste, I like VX100P photos better than M14U although most of them are touched up by AI. If you want a phone with nice photos output most of the times without manual works, you won't go wrong with VX100P.

8. HyperOS is better than FunTouch. If global version of VX100P is OriginOS I think this may make the different.

This M14U is definetly for pro shooter to have a phone with great camera capabilities, manual tuning & play around & I think VX100P is better with shoot & post kind of camera phone.

Useful good post. Thanks. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Vivo X100 Pro are currently the top 2 Chinese Android phones with the best cameras to me, alongside maybe Sony Xperia 1V. The few points as mentioned above are particularly useful to me.

The quality of camera is one of the important criteria in the selection of a phone to me and it's useful you have compared the cameras in both phones.  Since I don't play around with the camera settings or do any post processing with the photos and often shoot in automatic with out-of-camera JPEGS being the top priority, it appears that the Vivo X100 Pro is better than Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
*
Ya. Vivo X100 Pro definitely is a all-rounded camera phone & the only downside is the FunTouch OS. Else, its price & specs offering a better value than Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Unsure whether I should sell it off or else. Haha.

Nice review.

Does the 14U camera still automatically increase brightness when it detects a face? Curious to know as this was a feature which could not be turned off in the 13U. I quote my my previous camera focused review on the 13U. Do you have any comments on issues below?
*
1. Auto increase brightness when face detected? In which mode, can be more specific on the steps?

2. For the settings preserved, limited. Example, EV, front or back camera, camera mode. Those more specific settings like aperture, zoom level & etc cannot.

1st time using camera in a phone that indicates me the phone is overheated & need to close the camera app. Today unsure why the phone overheated like hell.

Plus, battery consumption is pretty bad.

Mrwhosetheboss YouTube video said Xiaomi 14 Ultra temperature can cook egg. Now I know what he meant.

I think the hot weather these days only make the problem worst

Especially I shoot 4k60fps
*
Ya. The heat is horrible for any phones that I used before, Samsung S23U, Vivo X100P, iPhone 13PM & etc.

Basically, it won't burn your hand but you can feel the heat non-stop like warm bag.

Dun get me wrong, I love this phone very much but this issue really bugging me. Once the heat is generated & the phone is sluggish & frame drops.

Moreover, this phone is picky on 3rd party charger & not even charge up probably with laptop.

Anyway, anyone got use Google Extend Lock on this device? It seems not working properly even I have setup it correctly for bluetooth & location triggers.

Could it be due to the setting? Display resolution set to Max. I think it is better to use back Xiaomi charger to be safe.
*
For all the phones I used before, display resolution & refresh rate were set to max & no issue. Although, Vivo X100 pro sometimes has this issue when brightness is max but this M14U just way more worst, even my current Poco F5 no such issue or the last Xiaomi 11 Ultra I used.

Don't get me wrong, the original power adaptor really does it job well at 90W max & fast in charging but the heat issue is really something.

Does hyper os has function like Samsung mode and routines or Apple automation?
*
No. I wish it has Samsung routine which I can do some automation like reach office auto lower volume.

Worst is Google extend lock also not working.

Unless you only care for photography else this phone definitely not suitable as daily driver.

If u can accept the FuntouchOS which looks like from 10 years back then i think Vivo a good choice haha.
For me i rather take 14 U HyperOS bro.
*
Yup. Totally agreed. Minus the lousy FunTouch OS, VX100P always a better choice in terms of price performance ratio.

However, HyperOS for me is inconvenient of missing control center switching plus Google Extend Lock.

How much battery used until it says that? Took out the x100 pro for a photo shoot with my kid at the zoo.. after 400+ image and 4-5 video is still not too bad. It's warm but not overheating. Battery left 40+% from 100.
*
Less than 15mins, possible outdoor using plus hot weather. Plus the max brightness is triggered on phone although it's hardly to see compared to VX100P or Samsung S23U.

I'm starting to love the camera compared to VX100P because it's more true to my eyes. VX100P is more pleasant to eyes but sometimes it's a bit over especially night photos.

I see, seems like the OS and AI still far behind compare to Samsung and iPhone. Hope Xiaomi will get some improvement soon

If you have a CN version with preloaded Xiaomi AI then you will found it's even better than above.

For those who knows Chinese, you can install Xiaomi AI (小爱) & play aorund with it. Can help you generate articles, do automation tasks & even generate AI photos.

You mean global version can install xiaomi AI and it will help to get more photo AI features?
*
Yes. It does. Just interface working in Chinese language, what I meant is generate an AI photo from your phone directly, not AI photo editing.

Anyway, beta testing for Global version is coming. So just wait if you don't mind.
