This part i am a bit confuse. In my bill, there is a min NEM charges, RM1.90 + taxes. I have generated 9kWh more and my bill is RM6.15 (420kWh import, 429kWh export, 19days bill) . Wonder how the -ve bill and less than RM2 even possible? 

Recently got quotation from Pathgreen and Verdent my home is single phase and plan go with micro inverters (Hoymiles was the only option from both companies).

Pathgreen was able to offer 12 panels Trina solar panels and Hoymiles.

Verdent max 10 panels (JA/Jinko/Trina) with Hoymiles as they want to comply with Hoymiles warranty.

Pathgreen did mentioned warranty no issue.

So its Verdent 6.1kWp vs Pathgreen 7.38 kWp price more or less same varies by 3 digits.

Both side warranties looks attractive and seems like Pathgreen is the better choice but I would like some input from solar sifu/kaki here to help me decide.

Quotation given by PG shows Hoymiles brochure and types of models they provide.

So far I am still waiting for PG to clarify which specific models they decide to install.

Verdent will install a total of 3 microinverter units consisting of HMS-1600-4T and HMS-1800-4T

Simply put Verdent said their max panel installation for single phase is 10 due to complying with dc/ac ratio of 1.35x in hoymiles warranty statement.

PG however in the quotation provided by them, able to give me 12 panels using HMS-2000 and warranty according to PG should be no issue.

he already mentioned 6.1kwp... lower power pv lower power inverter is fine... is system matching...

but of course we all want bigger... 6.1kwp with 3 hms-2000 will work too...

is not so simple for it to work.

cause u normally on aircon at night where no Solar time.

cause TNB will charge the surcharge before deduct the Solar credit.

actually is about the lifestyle of set to 16C even know that aircon will not possible to reach that.

same like my old life style, set max for the aircon and pay for all the extra for nothing.

I’ve been facing a puzzling issue with my electric bill and hope to get some insights here.

I have a home solar system (5.82 kWp with 12 panels) installed by Pathgreen, active since January 2024. Initially, it was fantastic—my bill dropped from RM222 in December 2023 to below RM10 per month from January to May 2024. However, starting June 2024, my bill suddenly shot up to almost RM200, and it’s been consistent ever since.

Here’s my situation:

Only my wife and I live in the house.
No new electrical appliances were purchased in 2024.
We use just one aircon at night, set to 25/26 degrees with the fan on.
The house came with a separate solar water heater.
I’ve already done the following:

Called TNB – They claim there’s nothing wrong on their end.
Called the solar provider (Pathgreen) – They also say the system is working fine.
Engaged an electrician – He couldn’t find any wiring or appliance faults in the house.
At this point, I’m stumped. Is anyone else experiencing something similar, or does anyone have ideas on what could be causing this? Could it be related to the solar system performance, TNB metering, or something else entirely?

Appreciate any advice or suggestions!

New kid on the block here who plan to install solar to my 3 phase home . Here is the quote I got . Need sifu sifu advice and guidance here .is the package ok ? And Is it ok to use hoymile hms2000 microinverter on 3 phase ? My bill is 1.1k-1.5k monthly . Looking forward to have saving  atleast 50% from current bill after installation

not only that. you get 5 years of solar insurance... I had to get my own, every year.

and 5 years of operations and maintenance... that is another couple of  thousands.

and honestly the price is way way lower than what I got when installed 4 months ago, even though mine is 16.8kwp - 12kwAc.
btw microinverter sounds really good.

anyhow, not sure how bad other solar user's generation is for November... but it is below 25% below the good months. Meaning usually if 50kWh per day... now only 38kwh.

My house is single phase. If I install 10 KwP panels without upgrade to 3-phase, from safety wise is there any risk of fire? Will it void my house fire insurance?

normal usage is aircond the entire night for master bedroom 2HP, in future will charge EV too, day time is 1HP aircond + basic desktop usage, not much heating appliances apart from shower water heater and water dispenser.

why need warranty? doesn't mean cannot use if after warranty period.

Electricity generation should show dip if panels not working/inefficient. Probably can test and replace panels individually if no longer efficient.

This is what your panels generate extra that you didnt use. But 390 over a month shows that you over-installed your panels.

I recently approached by company can install solar from taking money out personal insurance but no affect the policy.

So basically is free installation.

Anyone knows about it?

Sorry, I think I know the answer already, my import was 626 KWH, and the 26 KWh was to offset the 26 KWh above 600 KWh. Sorry for asking too quickly.

Because you have 168 KWh at the RM0.5160 tier, that's why it fills from that tier at 168 KWh, then the rest filled at the lower tiers. Mine is one tier higher at RM0.5460, so it fills from that tier and waterfall down to lower tiers.
