So, after some comparison and my usage,

I went for 5.94kwp around 17k (trinasolar 0.495kw , solis 5kwAc, string)
so far the vendor response is very good and supportive.

ETA installation, early march
*
is trinasolar 0.495kw sounds older gen ? Is it bifacial ?

Model quoted was NEG18R.20. from spec doesn't look like bifacial
*
ya based on the product code it is monofacial ..

do they suggest 12 pcs x 0.495 to get your 5.94kWp system?

yes correct 12pc

if you believe you have potential to increase higher usage in future and your roof has limited spaces, try to get some quotations who can offer highest capacity Panels so that you can leave some spaces on your roof for future expansion.

cheers

I am not sure if the price he gets, but doesn’t seem like a good deal. Coz the panel looks like old stock to me.  Panel size slightly smaller too, unless he has a very limited roof, then better go for bigger wattage. Bigger panel in term  of height. Like this he can reduce the number of panels, like maybe 10pcs with a bigger capacity and perhaps there is some more room for future exploration if needed.

yeah, that's what my thought is too.

I noticed the December bill has -RM8.15 as picture above but when in Jan 2025, this amount did not carry forward. Anyone experienced this before?
This is the Jan 2025 bill as below.

TNB revised the Jan Bill least 2-3 times, make sure you are getting the 'latest' Jan bill.

I think 4.64kwp setup won’t really help much in the Tnb bill, not only it’s more expensive upfront, but due to Tnb lower tariff for the first few hundred brackets, it won’t get u far in term of saving.

Btw, 4.64kwp can and should help generate around 480kwh on average per month. Which is around 16-18kwh a day.
*
I think however small a system it would also be able to save the bill in the 10 years tenure. What is usually not considered is the potential maintenance cost. For eg. fixing an out of warranty panel for a small system like this 4.64kWP is the same as a big system (>10kWh), but this extra cost adds up significant ROI period to a smaller system.

If I install 6kwp what is the expected solar output per day and per month?
*
use 'estimated', not 'expected' because there are other unknown factors. Estimation uses either 3 sun hour or 3.5 sun hours per day X 30 days a month. ie. 6kWp x 3 = 18kWp x 30 = monthly generation estimation

That's what I was given when I started looking for quotes.

reading from the comments here..

Knowing that solar companies pun all new, baru 2-3 tahun ni boom..

wondering what will happen tu us, consumer who has 5 years, or 10 years/15 years warranty..

IF the supplier company or worst still the Manufacturer bungkus..

OR even, slightest..ghosting / very bad customer service / poor response..

kena ready to panjat, check, clean n do simple trouble shooting sendiri nampaknya..
*
Simple supply & demand i guess. As there are more and more install base, i'm sure there will be some kind of 3rd party contractors who are willing to panjat for you. So long as u willing to folk out $$$ i'm sure there is always someone who can assist.

Agree that generally south would receive more.. you can see where the sun is positioned from Mar - Aug and from Sept - Feb, sun path is slightly different on each period. Ie. my car porch (facing NW312') receive marginally more sunshine during afternoon in Mar - Aug, so overall the north panels aren't as productive as the one facing sourth.

Sunpath in MY for now.

Tumpang Thread,

currently seeking proposal for solar installation.

I'm still new with solar initiative

here what I have got so far

a. Verdant: 25,900 after MBB discount (8.54kWP)
b. GSPARX: 27k-28k (7.93kWP)

So far Verdant okay?

I'm still waiting for Sols Energy proposal.

if you live around klang valley, would be good to visit Homedec at KLCC .. many special promos.

yea, plan to go there as well.

so far, which provider are gooding/recommended?  sweat.gif
*
i would suggest you filter out a few and then Google around some comments and experienced shared by others.. the worst scenario i have seen was installation delayed for some unacceptable reasons.. Go to FB there are quite a few Solar discussion groups where you get to read more experience sharing. I went to the famous P* but then i had a very bad experience with their installation process.. So, not everyone is perfect especially when you are getting a 'lemon' service provider.

You will probably come across contradicting reviews on same provider. Bear in mind most of the providers have different sales teams and also engaged different contractors/worker teams to install.
*
true also, luck plays some roles.. but background check should help in filtering out a real bad one.

Just got an offer from Path Green

8.64kwp = 22k (outright), 23k (installment) exclude SolaRis
they offer Micro-inverter apparently.

Panel from Trina Solar
Inverter from Hoymiles

slightly cheaper than string inverter (Verdant, Sols Energy, GSPARX)

is this good offer?
*
Does sound like a 7.xxkWp package ... Maybe double check again? If it is truly 22k/23k for 8.64kWp it is a steal! Also, in general micro cannot be cheaper than String ...

Aisay, now in grab on the way from klia, just re-read and saw the price exclude Solaris rebate, meaning all these whiles the price was jacked up to include the solaris rebate, meaning the solaris rebate which was meant for rakyat money, the solar providers hijacked 75% first.

Does anyone know the RM/kWh before the Solaris time ?
