Can't say that. Solar is not free, already investment in. TOU just sign up and get savings from lower tariff.
*
That is after 10 years NEM period if can't export. Already ROI on 5 or 6 years so consider free lah.

For TOU NEM, i did quick check if import equal export equal 620kwh, saving in TOU is less than RM1, so no urgency to register now as too much hassle

Maybe later TNB apps can 1 click subscribe then I will do so

last time i checked, string can install directly without converter but micro need a converter..
both still need professional to help you install.
if you hv EV car, then you can save battery money by using EV car as battery..
there is a converter for this purpose  laugh.gif
*
not all string, must be hybrid string then only can hookup with DC coupling battery

normal string and micro need to use AC coupling battery

i guess after 10 years those without battery have no choice but to upgrade again
i hope after 10 years technology will improved and make upgrade much simple
only need to worry about it after 9.5 years
*
no need, just use AC coupling battery.

anyway string invertor and battery lifespan about 10 years also so time to change after the 10 years NEM period

if battery too expensive just use to charge my EV then

As long export can match import the bill increment is minimal

That is why, instead of promoting power consumption saving habits, and encourage ppl to go for green energy, they reverse the trend by sacrificing solar users benefit, and let those non solar users to enjoy lower tariff. Just because b40 can't afford solar.

Now installing solar seen like become waterfish already, lol.

My bill also become double this mth. Speechless, we paid to invest in green energy, end up have to pay more for the bill
*
Don't just compare with previous month bill. Compare with your bill what if you didn't install solar at all.

RoI from 4 years to 5 years not the end of the world

I already spent, can't do anything except from becoming a frog being slowly cooked in water😅

Never thought a contract also can be changed easily.

Those who want to install, better take in the risk if gov want to manipulate you, now extend your roi 1-2 years extra by changing tariff, next time dont know how many years more.
*
That depends on the system cost and capacity

I don't see any significant changes in my own ROI, maybe like one month

For those haven't got NEM quota, can just forget about solar as selco not really worth it

For those already got NEM quota but not yet intsall, do your own ROI calculation. If the outcome still favorable just go install. No need to compared with the previous tariff what if no tariff revisions as that is reality no need to ponder so much

Old bill will deduct the higher tariff bracket first. New bill wouldn't. Any extra import will need to pay around 45sen per kwh. Then add sst add kwtbb then add 10 you are good to go

As for Selco, the ROI is about 75-80 months for high users above 1500kwh. To some , it’s still acceptable and it’s definitly not comparable to ROI for NEM.

Find the setup with bigger batteries, and sufficient panel size to charge up the batteries.

Good thing is : no blackout even when others blackout. Also, less chances being screwed by Tnb coz those Selco part is beyond their control.

Nem is past tense.  So the only way to double the value or get the BESS setup for free is by utilizing a portion of the Tnb repayment to get this setup.  So far I see this is viable for users that hit at least 1500 to 2200kwh.
*
macam lah like GET insurance last time to lower import to less than 1500kwh

where is your house - i also want to come over to have gathering smile.gif
jokes aside - how many EV car you own? need 700kWh per month - how many km will it get you for 700kWh?
is it still worth it to charge your EV car at home with this crazy new tariff?
*
Where you get the idea of crazy new tariff? In facts it is just the offsetting mechanisms not as favorable to NEM users compared with last time.

Per kwh costs are actually lower for most domestic users

For those on NEM if import is more than export is badly affected.
*
Yes. But one extra kwh is around 50sen regardless. Still much cheaper than charging outside or petrol consumption

actually still don't quite get it. sry sry. lol i always have difficulties understanding stuffs like these.

Here i found one of my previous bill that have the closest import export value with my latest bill (new tariff). I see the only difference is the kapasiti charge thing? i also pay lower tax somehow.

Top is new tariff.
Bottom is old tariff.

the only thing new is the RM10 peruncitan thingie

Other than that, is one to one offset

but last time is one lump sum rates like 52sen/kwh, now split to 3 that add up to about 44sen/kwh

last time NEM TNB offset at the higher tariff bracket first so most users will be charge based on 22sen/kwh etc based on lowest bracket for the net import

but now since is flat rates of 44sen/kwh, any net import will base on 44sen/kwh hence most users will experience big increase if their net import is a lot

so the new bill calculation is like 44sen/kwh x net import + RM10 + SST + KWBTT

although got EEI rebate now but most NEM users cannot enjoyed as most of the rebate will be deducted back

I am referring to those that nem import at 600kwh figure.  Meaning their nem import is 600, export is 400 or around there lah. Small setup.

Not import -export =600
*
i did a quick check if got full EEI for NEM

Import 650kwh, Export 600kwh, will have negative bill RM10

Export less than import still got negative bill, too good to be true
