QUOTE(MGM @ Jan 25 2025, 09:10 AM) For a solar panel system costing 30k. Which cc is good for earning cashback/points even after converting txn TO Installment for 60mth? CC must not have annual fee otherwise need to ask for fee waiver yearly. Certain installer tie with certain bank, not that u can choose any card freely

Malayisa is at average 4 degree N latitude, so theoretically panel facing south will have slightly more sunlight in a year due to sun movement. However, since monsoon seasons are at the end of every year, this will mitigate out the generation for the south facing panel as pointed out for Mr Bee above.

QUOTE(bee88 @ Apr 6 2025, 10:19 AM) Problem is in the morning not using a lot of it. Maybe very minimal. Like whole morning just 3 kWh only for my case. Just turn on in the weekend to charge EV, 11am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday should be enough to full charge the car. This post has been edited by yeapsc73: Apr 6 2025, 10:32 AM

QUOTE(bleeper @ Jun 21 2025, 11:07 AM) Not necessary. Maximum you can get at any moment is up to 5.5kwac. But throughout the day it fluctuates depending on cloudy weather or not. You need to check your generation graph on the inverter app to see the actual generation. Mine is 7.2kwp single phase. Very hot and clear sunny day (rarely) can go up to 35kwh on that day. Lowest if rainy day in selangor like yesterday only 12-14kwh. Average around 24-28kwh/ day in a month for me. You all mixed up kwp and kwac Single phase house max 5kwac as per seda or about 7kwp or 12 pieces solar panel as most reported Mine is also 7.2kwp system. Do your own maths.

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Jun 23 2025, 09:00 PM) Before the new Tariff, we will try to use up the Solar production in day time to reduce the Import in overall hence to avoid ICPT, now with this off-peak rate everyone is advice to use more at night.. that's a big contrast and I would also think we should give these guys TNB, SEDA, etc. some time to draw a clearer policies for solar users. It may still be the same kWh rates for above 1500kwh is 10sen more. Never mentioned whether this 1500kwh is net import or actual import. If it is actual import like last time when counting icpt penalty, you still need to max use your solar at day time so that input kwh less than 1500kwh You may save a few sen for off peak usage but incurred 10 Sen more for over 1500kwh

QUOTE(hjh87 @ Jun 28 2025, 10:48 AM) That's the main reason I'm saying this—how can TNB force everyone to join this initiative? If someone truly wants to help save the environment, they can install solar PV using their own money. It shouldn't be the government's job to forcefully collect funds under the pretext of a so-called 'saving the world' initiative. The world belong to everyone, no? When you breath also release CO2 to atmosphere, no pay carbon tax?

QUOTE(bananaking @ Jun 28 2025, 11:07 PM) Why lah keep quarrelling about whose wire and who pay... You do know 50% of TNB owned by Kazanah, EPF, Amanah Saham etc.... If they make more profit you get more dividends. On the flip side, Peninsular Malaysia grid power come from 90 % fossil fuel. Sarawak more than 70% from renewable. Fossil fuel power generation is very bad at quickly ramping up and down production eg: ramp down when there is high solar and ramp up at night. Countries with high solar production already facing this problem. TNB need to modernise the grid if not we will suffer in next couple decades. That is why they raising tariff for consumption above 1000kwh, a large factor is capex. TNB tariff is not decided on a whim, got many components. Just need to Google. For info can read this: https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/752817Malaysia power demands are actually peak at around 8pm and drop all the ways until the next morning

For existing users whose offset period has ended, they will be given the option to switch to any ongoing rooftop solar programmes such as Solar for Self-consumption Programme (SelCo) or the Community Renewable Energy Aggregation Mechanism (CREAM) programme. Alternatively, they can install energy storage systems, or participate in any future programmes that would be introduced by the government.
meaning after 10 years can just use as usual just no more offset, or need to install devices to stop power outflow to the grid?

QUOTE(I-Kurosaki @ Jul 8 2025, 09:58 AM) yeah, maybe the roof shape (orientation, pitch) was ideal to maximize the solar production. I think mine was a low pitch? 10-15 deg? photo of a corner house, but the roof design is exactly the same. the bad part is we couldn't see the installed panels at all, unless with a drone Sun is at the northern hemisphere now. You will see lessor generation when the sun shifted to southern hemisphere after the next equinox around end September

QUOTE(I-Kurosaki @ Jul 8 2025, 01:29 PM) metal roofing will have a layer of insulation material so it's not just metal sheet. Perceived noise is still tolerable. During heavy rain, most of the sound intruded thru the glass window anyway. I have 20 panels installed on the main roof (there's another smaller secondary roof at the rear). Right, good to know. Will monitor the solar performance in Q4. But the effect probably not as severe as houses with higher pitch or with multiple roof sides. Mine for your reference. Pitch roof fall both side. Facing direct south

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Jul 12 2025, 07:22 PM) Confirmed already with people who changed to ToU bill, they got their cutoff bill. The way they count EEI eligibility is just through the import kWh alone Did that bill shown that is the NEM export kwh rates based on TOU?

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Jul 13 2025, 02:15 PM) Maybe because the TNB online calculator cannot calculate excess NEM credits to be stored. bee88In and out 650 where got excess credit? Or u mean negative tnb bill after applying EEI?
