QUOTE(andyz @ Jul 30 2009, 07:19 PM) click "setup" button on the dvico remote while watching the said movie.. and adjust contrast or brightness...this is usually where the problem is for darkness and lightness... last time i did change some of the setting n was fine on my plasma.. the prob is that when i change to the LCD monitor in the bedroom then i need to change some of the setting again... so now i just leave it to the default setting.. but that was b4 i try play BDMV... but i will try that again later 2nite.... thanx.. dvico might have different setting than your ps3 i notice that when i change setting to 1080p/24Hz.. the contrast n brightness level also change.. is this true 4 Dvico? QUOTE(hsiengloong @ Jul 30 2009, 06:44 PM) Dunno... i know that Dune can play BDISO with full menu support.. 'curi mpyw statement'.. whereas Dvico judder when play BDISO... n most BDMV i've tried dun have full menu support on DVico.. mayb can refer to taukeh mpyw for Dune.. QUOTE(Ngto @ Jul 30 2009, 08:26 PM) You sure Dvico 6500 can adjust brightness and contrast settings? I enquired about this feature recently, but someone told me it couldn't be adjusted. mayb he never tried pressing setup button during playback.. QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jul 31 2009, 09:18 AM) This is a symptom of something going wrong during the ripping/remuxing. thanks... i do have the doubt of the sources being the same.. If the source is from the same point, it should not have differences in brightness/contrast. Especially if the picture was calibrated thru the PS3 the last time. |

QUOTE(zerorulez @ Jul 31 2009, 11:37 AM) one more thing does the DVico screw up when playing 1080p/24Hz? since i need to change the brightness/contrast level whenever i switch to this mode.. QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jul 31 2009, 02:34 PM) Comment removed. Edit: I have to check this again. I will report this back when I have the measurements. Do you see a clear difference with this mode off and with this mode on? I know now what happen...i've been experimenting... Now with the tvix_M-6x00_1.3.158 fw i thought the prob still there.. but when i tried played mkvs n BDMV i do notice they corrected the prob... no more issues.. waiting for anfiel measurement report... |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 1 2009, 10:22 PM) one main factor I can think of = colorspace.. HD movies recorded in REC601 (SD) instead of the proper REC709 (HD) bro did u ask ur staff to teardown the Dvico n WDTV? as for DVICO being expensive, maybe the firmware thing that they are doing seems better (to justify their higher costs) but no way I'm accepting that their PCB board hardware costs 4 times more than WDTV.. sorry I'm from electronics industry.. after seeing their fake DVICO comparisons, I don't see how it their electronics and hardware costs more than a PS3.. Added on August 1, 2009, 10:38 pm comp sources (like menu) 0-255, when watching video 16-235.... take your pick.. very hard to change everytime la like that... |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 1 2009, 11:03 PM) imagine 16-235 range expanded to 0-255.. gonna try compare later... Added on August 1, 2009, 11:06 pmas for the ""Teardown", we in this line visually see also can guesstimate the costs mah.. I mean, in general, those below USD100 board or USD200-300 level boards.. (well it looks like the former.. TVIX uses SMD tantalum caps (those yellow ones) sticking from the PCB, that I salute la.. those are costly compared to normal SMD Ecaps aiseh i thought the 'Teardown' did happen... some reverse engineering... n... something new is born .. Before this i always judge y Dvico price being on the high side compared to others media players... add a little bit can get.. PS3 (play games, watch movie,surf).. but due to time consuming in converting DTS coded 1080p mkvs to vob/m2ts to play on PS3 n being to split the file every 4GB is not to my liking... that y i bought the 6500a.. expensive.. but just see what can it do for me now.. QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 1 2009, 11:30 PM) I guess it's hassle free compared to PS3, but 1500-1600 price is just crazy.. i got the 6500a before seeing the Dune Dune which is a full BD-ISO + BD2.0 player only will costs around 1800 (I think mpyw mention before) now thats value.. |
