QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 27 2008, 10:46 AM) wow, cut throat pricing if can play blu-ray M2TS video at 1080p and output HD audio via HDMI , then IMHO, it's better than blu-ray player.. 1st n formost, its bluray, not blueray 2ndly, this is a media player, it has nothing to do with bluray 3rd, one bluray maybe 10 X DVD or 5 X DVD, u go n do the math most importantly, this aint a bluray player |

rx330 and hthaki I think the M2TS need dvico to play properly.. didikl say WD player doesn't play the files properly audio missing etc..
as for PC playback, need to have them in BD ISO format for 100% playback.. I tried RE4 on PC+powerdvd8, plays back wonderfully.. with PIP summore.. hope DVICO can play those M2TS properly... |

QUOTE(rthj @ Jan 19 2009, 10:09 PM) so every 1TB HDD can house approx 20 dbl-layer BD......so for some of the fellas here....would need abt 10x1TB HDD.... confirmed 1TB can store around 25-30 (some movies are between 25-43GB).. .. hang on....one wouldnt throw the BD away after ripping them, right? hehe 6 x 1.5TB (say RM500 each) is still cheap.. compared to 200 physical BDs (paying over 10k) like some here are collecting.. use servers to serve videos thats the way Im looking at now... changing discs are very laborious not to mention inconvienient and cant do multi room video on demand.. QUOTE(htkaki @ Jan 19 2009, 10:37 PM) Cost-effectiveness would be the keyword, right? hehe! dunno people actually want BD for the digital stuff like 1080p video + DTS-MA or the physical discs, blue cover and metal cover?I would rather have softcopy than the BD itself. As ar188 mentioned, can save all the hassle |

QUOTE(kkm @ Jan 20 2009, 12:14 AM) Sure, we can (and should) be discussing what software our boxes can play, otherwise where's the fun, and how do we know what the boxes can do. OK thanks for the head-up! cheers! But (I've been warned before) let's not talk about where the software is from, what we do with it, and where we keep it. |
