That is about the same price I paid for the AC86u some years back.

Are the improved specs efficacious if I am only going for the 500 Mbps package?

My devices are mostly from pre Wi Fi 6 days.

I think many people here mentioned about this router not long ago. This was a great Asus alternative to the TP-Link AX73. Recommended by sifu Blacktubi, you can check the review in his website.

However, if not mistaken your AC86U should still have no problem providing 500Mbps no?

Thanks. I had forgotten about this. I used it when I used an older Airport Extreme.

I just ran it. Strangely, it suggested 165 and 128 as the best 5GHz channels. I had previously used 165 and got the poor test results. I can't select 128 as it isn't in the dropdown box

I think I must have set up the ASUS router using this as well.

My RSSI is -55 - that is the best I can do, a long way from your -27.

Thanks again

Try and choose either of the four upper channels (149-153-157-161) and select 80mhz. Channel 165 is only limited to 20mhz and channel 128 is using DFS channel, which limits the Transmit power.

If you want to try tweaking your router settings for optimal performance/stability, you may try to follow the way they tweak at SNBForums. But save your current settings first in case the one I shared doesn't work well for you so you can revert back.

Yes, but like some other forumers mentioned, by default you can't choose.

I think in my case, there were 2 things that worked in my favor:
1. The salesperson promised me the Dlink
2. There was an exact model (but with some red stripes) in the Unifi Centre itself, with the price tag of FREE if you sign up 100Mbps and above.

They were very reluctant to entertain me, and I pretty much gave up already. Didn't really pursue it after a few calls and follow up.

Then suddenly, they called so I just agreed to it.

I am on SWU 3.0 500Mbps.

Daheck? They gave you the Fiberhome AX3000, then allowed you to swap to D-Link AX3000? I thought it was impossible lol. Since you have had both, how is the difference?

SWU 4.0? What's the difference for the 300Mbps package compared to the previous?

I guess some ISP is special?
Unsure, can be their tech setup it wrongly? hmm.gif
Based on this thread, UniFi
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5073652/+100

I think If you feel slow down, then try disable IPv6 la, but the issues is mostly caused by the throttling of UniFi on SG, like the rerouting of HK to SG CloudFlare now.... doh.gif  doh.gif
---
For your info, I performed testing on www.lazada.com.my with IPv4 and IPv6 of Google DNS and CloudFlare DNS.
Here is the result.

2606:4700:4700::1111, MY
2606:4700:4700::1001, MY
1.1.1.1, SG Akamai for IPv4/IPv6
1.0.0.1, SG Akamai for IPv4/IPv6

2001:4860:4860::8888, MY
2001:4860:4860::8844, MY
8.8.8.8, MY for both
8.8.4.4, MY for both

This is why I prefer Google DNS, lol.

For the extra, both IPv6 DNS got reaching issues for Public Bank's DNS server, lol.
https://www2.pbebank.com/

Yes, there is 10s timeout for public bank.(old is 30s)
This might be caused by the caching time TTL is 30s, but strange that if I check via Android network tools, it is fine.... hmm.gif
---
More testing on PBe, it works well also on DNS over HTTPS, both IPv4/IPv6, so... hmm.gif
Seem like only happen on DNS over UDP for IPv6 la.

Wait I thought Cloudfare DNS was always better? Google DNS is the same except it is faster based on your results? Damn maybe I should switch to Google DNS lol.

Don't la, later my lazada slow down because you guys back to MY CDN. devil.gif

Depend, it is pure luck, sometimes if UniFi choose to kick you SG Google DNS, then you still get the same, lol.
The problem of stay too closed to SG lol, not the fastest speed, but the worst routing issues.

hehe thanks for the tip, I notice there have been slight hiccups here and there sometimes, even in lowyat forum. Google DNS is mostly the same right? Don't see a difference, other than the better routing.

Question,

If I set Google DNS on my router, but on my Android phone I set Adguard DNS in Private DNS settings, that will mean all my browser/youtube use is through Adguard DNS right? It bypasses the DNS I set in router?

Change your listing strategy, RM170 change to RM90. In the description you may state RM90 for one, RM170 for both, adjust as you see fit. The important thing is the price that appears on the listing must be below RM100 so people will actually take a look at it. You may also remove the '(2 units)' in your title if you like. You do not have to sell both together, you can try to sell separately. I sold mine separately.

Also relist it so it appears on top as most recent. Like bumping a thread so people see it first than the other sellers.
